Fans complained that the storyline in 7 was too understandable and easy to follow compared to 8 so they got the hack who wrote KH in to turn the game into a meta narrative where player agency doesn't exist.

Sephiroth can't be absorbed by the lifestream. He will live forever, he has lived forever, and hes bored being the last living thing in existence. Cloud is the only person capable of doing the same, so Sephiroth resets time over and over with the hope that Cloud will accept his offer to become immortal. The lifestream jannies keeps reassembling the group from the meteor incident to defeat Sephiroth because no one else is able to.

Sephiroth has become something like G-man, and he granted Cloud 7 seconds of time travel to do whatever the he wanted.

Knowing this all the other ridiculous changes taking place in the story, it could be that Cloud is the one making changes to the story when given the chance by Sephiroth.

isn't it actually jenova there at the end of creation. because sephiroth is the one that wants total planet destruction not jenova because it needs hosts to feed on.
every time sephiroth is nice I thought is was jenova esp. in the cutsecenes where hes helping him get it together

zack and cloud will fuse bodies with aeriths materia and become one being with two hearts and they will kill sepgiroth using the bustersword to stop sephiroth from covering the world in darkness. then vivi will show up with his own buster swoed and tell zlouk to take care of aerith and vivi will lock the door to darkness with his buster sword. then zlouk will have amnesia and with the help of hojos younger brother from another timeline will get the data from zlouks mind and recreate it. we then get a flashback of zlouk inside large white castle reliving another version of the events of final fantasy and where sephiroth is seen running around with hooded figures. zlouk starts to forget who he is slowly and so do his friends. they forget about aerith and others before defeating the AC sephiroths.

skip to the present where zlouk is reawakening and setting off to find his friend OGsephiroth who was last seen travelling with vivi. squall informs zlouk where they went off to and hands him the kights of the round summon
