Grew up with the story and am still staying on it out of morbid curiosity to see how much Nomura can fuck its corpse

Played for the first time this year. Really enjoyed them a lot. Overflowing with soul and good music. I watched/rewatched each of the movies directly before each world and it really enhanced my experience and made me appreciate little touches more.
The story is dogshit objectively, but becomes kino if you take it on the nose as a ridiculous mishmash of Disney characters fighting brooding anime men. Honestly people who call the Disney worlds "filler" are retarded because that's easily the best part of the series, and I'm not even a DUDE BABY YODA Disney fanatic. I even liked KH3 because for most of the game Sora was just like "I dunno where we're going lol, let's explore" and just wound up in random Disney worlds which made all the diehard storyfag fans who want more cringe plot seethe.
And yeah I beat on Normal, and 2 and 3 on Critical. Tried every single spinoff and gave up within the first hour for all of them.

I can now safely say at least it isn't FF7R.

I love nearly all of them, including KH3. Then again, I played the entire series for the first time about a month or two leading into KH3 so I can only assume people bitching about the new releases are just heavy nostalgiafags who played KH2 when they were kids.

anyways i'm about to start the ff7Remake, i've avoided spoilers so far but it looks like a great faithful remake of my favorite RPG of all time.

Fun gameplay, shit stories most of the time. As far as ARPGs go, probably top tier.

I kind of wish that the Heartless and Nobodies were two separate sides. I like the idea that the Heartless were Darkness and Nobodies were Nothingness. But like Netflix MCU, they merge the similar villain groups together.

The original is significantly better than any of the other games in the series. The only parts of the other games that come close to the quality of the original are the parts concerning Roxas in 2; those parts are well-directed. I hope Nomura manages to recapture the brilliance of Kingdom Hearts again one day. I'm fairly excited to see where the story goes now that Xehanort isn't the main antagonist anymore and Yozora has been introduced.

To be honest, Kingdom Hearts 3 was a major disappointment for me. Birth By Sleep set up a gigantic emotional thorn that would be resonant throughout the entire series, and set Xehanort's actions into perspective; It wasn't all about darkness darkness keyblade, he was actively malicious and thoughtless. The consequences of his actions see your trio of protagonists effectively dead or gone, and hard hitting endings like that aren't common.

Then KH3 comes around and just... undoes it all, and even undoes Xehanort's monstrous nature, copping out with a "b-but I wanted to cull the weak, I-I didn't wanna hurt nobody" and everyone is suddenly okay with him. They had a really hard hitting ending in BBS, and then just completely undo it by the end.

i lost hope at 3D, KH3 was just the nail on the coffin

i enjoyed it despite the confusing convoluted lore they make. i am really curious as to what other disney movies are left if they'll be using what's left because that well is already dry or simply really low. im glad 3 made a comeback to make it whimsical with diosney feeling compared to the hardcore anime cliche that was 2 though i must say 3 felt lacking not just plotwise but in some worlds like frozen

Of course, Critical Mode Level 50. Easily the best boss ensemble of the series. Still not worth the 30 bucks. Only 20 at the very most.

Sora is at his best in 1. Still based in CoM. Honestly pretty bland in 2. Absolute fucking dogshit in 3D for some reason. Better than his last two incarnations in 3 imo but still not scraping 1.
