Why did it flop?
>inb4 killing nazi hurts much fee fees
It was cringe as fuck. Bethesda just need to keep stories out of their FPS games and let you shoot Nazis. So far their best attempt at this shit was DOOM 2016.
it was just too much of the same thing. wolfenstein isnt a franchise you can make multiple games in a short period of time
>Make a sequel
>Make the gameplay worse in every way
>If the AI dies you die
Who knows what went wrong
Shit writing.
Despite what the loud retards on the internet would have you believe, writing is important in games with a plot, even in a braindead shooter.
because:
-Wolfenstein 2 destroyed a lot of the goodwill people had for this franchise
-it's an off-year Wolfenstein game like The Old Blood, so people will know it's going to be shorter and less crucial to the series than a mainline entry
and i think that's it mostly.
all the other shit like the retarded story and the annoying main characters are not things that are going to dissuade people who make their purchases based off of ign reviews, which are a driving force of vost positive sentiment towards the franchise at this point. they just werent enough
sad that they had to do it to my favorite modern reboot of a classic fps property, but at least TNO and TOB were great
Real reason? The formula that worked for the series was thrown out for a weird mission structure with pseudo-RPG elements.
What Yas Forums will tell you? CRINGEY SJWS!
>Demolish all the goodwill you had by virtue signalling
>Make a genuinely inferior product on top of it
>Make another game that virtue signals even harder
>But also makes the characters somehow even more intolerable
>Yet again the gameplay degrades instead of improving
Maybe they should make a good game instead of trying to proselityze, or at the very least do both.
literally nobody asked for it
The main characters in wolfenstein 2 and this abomination were the bad guys. I don't want to fight for that ugly stinking monkey and whore jew.
