What is Yas Forums's opinion on Hades?
I fucking love it, although haven't even beaten Hades yet. Just today I got the closest, with Hades' second phase. Despite several Daedelus hammers and boons that I focused on the normal attack, I felt like I did far too little damage. Already Asterion and Theseus took ages. That aspect is a bit frustrating.
Artemis best girl.
Too burned out on roguelites to bother to try it
>tranny/r63 shit
Absolute cringe.
Another great game from Supergiant Games.
Do these words even have any meaning?
breddy gud
not quite pyre levels of kino but it's probably supergiant's best gameplay-wise
I'm waiting patiently to find out what I think. Not going to fall for the early access meme ever again, not even if it's Supergiant.
I want to make Medusa smile
I love it. Just made a thread here:
Because I didn't see this one. WHOOPS.
it's allright, haven't tried last patch.
the visual effects sometimes make the game unreadable, boss design is pretty mediocre due to all those ugly immunity phases, especially as they invalidate your Call ability.
i think the final boss sucks balls and need a redesign. he becomes invisible way too often which is frustrating and unflavorful. i am a bit of a shitter, but i can't seem to recognize his swing pattern and predict any of his moves, i just rely on getting to the finish line with enough health to tank him all, which i guess works well with the gameplay's role of health in attrition based roguelikes.
the hard mode you can select at the end is the dumbest fucking trap i've ever seen and should be deleted.
for better or for worrse i don't think the combat is too easy. after playing hades for weeks, climbing pact difficulties i tried curse of the dead gods, which feel like a clone with a different dress, and i couldn't clear 2 rooms without dying like a bitch.
Was fun for a while but I got tired of it; every run eventually started to feel the same. I wasn't thrilled with the newest weapon either so I think I'm done. Pretty fun for like 30 hours or so, though.
Does it feel like a complete game yet?
It's getting there, but not quite yet. It may take until June, depending on how the roni situation is hitting them
Clocked maybe 10 hours in early access for a couple patches. Felt like the gameplay became worse with each patch. Overall definitely their worst game by far
This, doesn't seem to be a lot of variety to how each level feels, and the boons aren't varied enough to make each run feel drastically different, like with Isaac
that said, you can still get at least 20 hrs off of it
>the cockblock at the end of her romance route
WHY
Whoa wait a minute. So this is a roguelite but it has also romance paths??
Yes and no
Great game aside from Hades himself having instantaneous attacks that are undodgeable. Fucking bullshit.
not really
you gain a resource that allows you to unlock more dialogue and lore
it's great
>early access shit
No thanks
>yfw you stomp a run with a new weapon
Actually let me put a bit more thought to my post.
The general gameplay is fun for a while but lacks variety. It's alleviated somewhat by different aspects for the weapons but within these different movesets they just don't seem properly balanced and it's too obvious which attacks are more or less useless and which ones you should be spamming.
At first the boons from the various gods add novelty and variety but as you keep playing you realize that most of them are a hindrance and some gods/boons are clearly better than others. Athena and Artemis are top tier gods and once you start upping your heat gauge you can't play without them. Crit and deflect is simply too powerful in comparison to the other gods and their boons. It's also disappointing that the game will "lock" you into a set of gods during a playthrough. I understand it's most likely to allow you to focus on building a more cohesive set of boons but it really kills the roguelite aspects.
The choose between gods rooms are almost never worth it because when you ruin a relationship with a god it takes several playthroughs to start seeing upgraded boons again.
I can't say for certain, but after ~70 hours of playtime I have a suspicion the game scales enemy HP to your damage output, nullifying a lot of your damage upgrades.
Tisiphone and Hades are bullshit because they have unreadable instantaneous attacks that can't be dodged. is right about the immunity phases being awful, they're also timed right when you get charge for your call so if you don't know you'll waste your call right before the go immune.
Even with all the complaints its still a solid game for being meme access.
For only 2 people
>Tisiphone and Hades are bullshit because they have unreadable instantaneous attacks that can't be dodged.
what? do you have the reflexes of my dead grampa? Tisiphone's dashes are telegraphed as fuck and I honestly do not remember a single Hades move that was not avoidable
I don't recall there being any attacks in the game that couldn't be avoided through the bullshit that is Athena dodge
>The choose between gods rooms are almost never worth it because when you ruin a relationship with a god it takes several playthroughs to start seeing upgraded boons again.
Welp, I guess I fucked this one up.
Not talking about her dashes. And you're being disingenuous if you're claiming Hades has no instantaneous attacks.
Well yeah, if you have deflect dodge and spam that shit you'll never get hit. That's why I mentioned that Athena is an objectively great god with must-have boons.
>The choose between gods rooms are almost never worth it because when you ruin a relationship with a god it takes several playthroughs to start seeing upgraded boons again.
wait what? is this true?
Then specify which atacks you mean, because she doesn't have many for you to choose from
>stunning forcewave + dash that throws energy balls
>2 dashes into whirlwind
>line eruptions
>throws balls in a spiral
>if you're claiming Hades has no instantaneous attacks.
I am claiming i don't remember. Again, i ask that you name his allegedly instantaneous and unavoidable attacks. The fact that is entirely possible to complete a run without taking damage makes it hard for me to believe you
which ones?
that bit's not true according to the wiki at least
>After completing the trial, the spurned god frgives Zagreus and offers their boon. There is no penalty or advantage for spurning either god.
The unique modifiers made it fun for a bit but the controls felt clunky and i got burned out quickly. Haven't even bothered to replay it since it got a full release.
While I have no way to actually prove thats what happens, every time I've done a dual-god trial whatever god I've made angry will have low-tier non-upgraded boons for about 2 runs before I start seeing quality boons again.
>And you're being disingenuous if you're claiming Hades has no instantaneous attacks
He's got quick attacks, but I'm pretty sure every one of them has a windup on it. His most painful attacks, the Big Spin, the skull shot, and the laser are heavily telegraphed. The only thing that's really bullshit is the phase change nova but you only get bopped by that one time and never again.
What attacks do you have problems with, user? His cast?
Can't you block every Hades attack with the shield?
