It seems pretty dead. I hope and pray it's not, I would hurt someone to get something SK2 level on a bigger screen. I just want SenranMayCry though. Or some kind of action game where you can Sonic Heroes through some group of characters.

The gameplay was totally different from the original even if it was recycled from the previous game, so by those standards it was still a remake.

7 was having development problems for a long time, then sony started going censorship happy, then Takaki left. Each game had been selling worse than the last since Shinovi versus so the series was on borrowed time. Too many lewd games tried to copy Shinovi versus' success and that led to lewd game fatigue.

I just wished he could've done that though. It seemed like by the time Takaki left Marvelous, he managed to climb up the corporate latter enough to start a new studio. But yeah he probably was going to get bored eventually, since it seemed like he had a daughter on the way and apparently wanted to make different games too.
