I'd rather have a revamped PSO Eps 1+2+4 at this point, but I'd be scared of what Sega would do to massacre those memories.

Sega already said the game will only be supported 8-10 years before they release the next one. Considering the time they will give to allow PSO2 players to migrate to the new game, that means PSO3 is most likely close to completion, maybe ready to launch this Winter or next Spring.

Releasing PSO2 here 8 years late means they're trying a last-minute cashgrab to squeeze whatever Western suckers are still around for all they're worth.

Microsoft making the deal this late either means they're absolutely retarded and desperate for any Jap game they can get, or they've made a deal to get dibs on PSO3 launch exclusivity and this was part of the package from Sega

Xbox probably paid to get PSO2 on their platform, to try to sell Xbox Ones, in the US, and also get on good terms with Japanese devs, since Xbox has been shit at that.

With this, it's a step in the right direction that shows Xbox can be a console for quality Japanese games. I mean, it's a bit of an uphill battle, as Sony has pretty much all the Japanese publishers working with them extremely well, but they are making an attempt.
This in turn would also show the Japanese Xbox audience, of which there is none, that maybe they can find quality games on Xbox that aren't just western-styled games that don't appeal to their demographic. There is a niche for western games in Japan though, it's just very small. After all, Gears of War and Halo had a pretty hardcore fanbase over there, even if its numbers were small, and couldn't compare to US numbers.
That's just my theory to be honest, but I can't really say if thats all to it.

I mean, you aren't wrong about the Yas Forumsincel part, because there really are some fuckin retards in the PSO2 community, but I've had a lot of fun with PSO2, met some really nice people, and I haven't spent one bit of money on it.
I mean, the AC Scratch micro-transactions are shit, but you don't really need them, and frankly anyone who uses them are retarded, and doesn't know how to use the player market in-game.
I've spent roughly 300 hours on the game, though nowadays it's way harder to put time into it, being that I'm busy with real life. Maybe it is kinda a waste of time, but I still associate it with many memories, being that I've been playing the game since 2017(I took a big break, then went back to it in 2019). Might be me being a bit biased though, so don't really take my opinion too seriously.
Fuck, I can't even get some of my friends into it, because they don't care, so it's probably likely they would feel the same way as you.

PC version's cancelled. They would've said something if it was coming by now. Azure costs next to nothing to utilize and it means PSO2 can be up for a while. Microsoft will kill it the moment it doesn't make much money however. It'll die like Maple Story 2 NA

It's over dude, PSO2 in the west is dead. Not even talking about the real issue, making it so Xboners can level uber fast with gimped content + Episode 6 weapons that slaughter content while keeping the game at only a certain level of easy difficulty. If the game comes out for PC, they'll 'fix it' and claim this is how it's going to be, making it harder to grind on non Xbots.
