I just gave up on trying to make friends. The groups I had slowly fell apart for no real reason other than time doing it's thing. I tried finding new groups but they just don't seem to be as open/accepting of new people, so I stopped bothering to put myself out and try to make friends and i'm fine with it. Honestly discord has been a blessing for finding groups to do shit with in mmos/group based shooters like borderlands or destiny. But I wouldn't call the people I meet there friends, it's just people who are doing similar stuff.

I know there are probably some good discords out there with more chill people, but you have to sift through a lot of shit, it's like looking through the Yas Forums catalog
