I'd kill for an updated, modern Pipeworks Godzilla game with new graphics, more old and new monsters, and a bit more balance. Maybe some alternate skins for the variations on the same kaiju like all Godzilla suits are different costumes.

I can't be the only one who likes the Wii version of Godzilla Unleashed, right? Sure, the controls were ass, and the number of maps was limited, but the sheer roster size alone was fucking spectacular.

For me, it's Godzilla Mothra King Ghidorah Giant Monsters All Out Attack.

Yeah I think so? Would be pretty neat to just have a sandbox Kaiju game.

Roster was good, and some of the maps like Tokyo being torn apart by a hurricane were cool. But the gameplay was lacking and even on PS2 it just wasn't as fun as Save the Earth. They should have waited a few more years and ported them on 360/PS3/Wii-U.

I liked the justification they gave in the Unleashed game, where the aliens are borrowing and recruiting as many monsters they can get, including the clearly outdated and clunky but still deadly Mechagodzilla 1
I can only wonder if they'd be willing to bring back Mechagodzilla in the new Godzilla movies in his original goofy 70s form or if they'd try to make a whole new design for modern audiences

Considering his design has changed in almost every continuity I'd say they'd probably change it, hopefully for something cool and unique and not just for "muh realism." Godzilla himself is unrealistic to even exist, so him fighting giant mechs is fine, there's no need to fix what wasn't a problem anyways. Making them grounded is fine, like explaining the workings of a mech or monster, Pacific Rim was a great example of both.

Shame Pipeworks went down the shitter (heh). Would've liked to see them listen to feedback and make better games for the next generations. Would've been better than that clunky Sony exclusive Goji game.

Honestly it was probably the entry of the trilogy I played the most, mainly because Varan quickly became my favorite character. However, I did find it disappointing that due to the crystal plot most of the cities looked pretty destroyed already. Tokyo was such a let down with how few buildings it had.

i feel like the right writer could find a way. like maybe they try to clone godzilla but the cloning process doesnt work fully and the clone needs a bunch of cybernetics to function correctly till its more machine than monster... okay that sucks but something cool.
