But dodging and counterstrike is not. Armor just makes the fight grindy

You can pay hotels for the long term which I think unlocks their room for the whole playthrough. But yeah, you do get like two places to stay.

Kingdom Cum is the best RPG out right now purely because they went for historic accuracy and not Muh Dragons. Prove me wrong.

KCD has much worse combat than Skyrim or Witcher 3

maces rape armor, true, but so do master strikes and combos. particularly if you're fighting someone without a visor and to the top slash, right slash, left slash combo you attack their unprotected face for massive damage. the main advantage longswords have is the range and speed though. maces are slow and have shit range. i know you used to be able to spam clinches and then immediately bash them in the head, but i think they fixed that since after a clinch they aren't in as close range as they used to be

It was bad quest design.
Once you wake up in rattay most people would go explore and do side quests, but having basic combat skills still locked would fuck them over and make them quit.
Could have taught players the basics in the starting village before the raid or something instead.

Cool game and idea but the gameplay is shit until you become the embodiment of death later on and even then it's not much better.

I'm curious about the role playing, but I understand the combat to be obnoxious jank despite their attempt at making something more compelling.

It doesn't feel awful but it is suboptimal.

Too large scale for the team = unfinished at launch with unacceptable bug amount when reviewers looked at it.
And since the lead dev defended it not having blacks on twitter on account of historical accuracy the eurogamer/rps mafia were happy to try to make people avoid it.
