Also, Sephiroth has basically been ruined. In the original game the first time you actually see him is in a flashback with Cloud when they're on the same side, and before that the only thing you see of Sephiroth is the bloody messes he leaves behind. They basically took the battle from Advent Children and had it happen during the first act of FF7.

Ending is a mix of AC/KH bullshit. You fight a giant Heartless thats actually a time janitor. Its pure Nomura assclownery

The time jannies show up throughout the game and exist only to ruin every scene they are in.

I still recommend playing the original. Even if this game was a 100% faithful remake, it would still only cover a very small part of it at the beginning, and you would see the end in 10 years anyway with this development pace.

At the very least they are still based for having the scientist character being evil because scientists are evil.

So does a friend of mine, but he still enjoyed FF VII after I convinced him to stop acting like a graphics obsessed zoomer.

FF7 isn't traditional turn based, so you gotta be quick and make fast decisions actively, unless you turn pause mode on.

all bullshit aside i'm at seventh heaven slums town still doing side quests and shit but why can't people just take it for what it is? they did a great job aesthetically and it's nice that they're developing the characters and organizations more (just did the quest where tifa and cloud go save the talker, was pretty cool). it's not going to be perfect but it's still cool so far. the original game isn't going anywhere even if you don't like it. this is why you don't base your entire existence off of this one game coming out and being exactly like you imagined it when you beat it at 10 years old. just take the thing for what it is for fuck's sake.
