After all these years, this game still sucks me in today. What is it that makes this world still feel more alive than many open world games even today? How'd they do it?

They did it by doing it first, ensuring your nostalgia would blind you to how dogshit it is (just like the rest of their games). Cuckstar will never make a game that can compare to even a mediocre jrpg.

Mega fucking cringe

reminder if you don't go for 100% you are a little bitch

Open world games have existed before. Even gta 1 & 2 were just 2d versions of it. Also gta 3 took a lot from driver 2

if this game wasn't made any open world game you've ever played would cease to exist and be wiped from your memory.

yeah gta 3 is probably the easiest to 100%, really no reason not to considering that the game is pretty barebones in actual activities.still has an amazing atmosphere that no other game can nail, that late 90s entering early 20s cultural shift.

I wouldn't say it feels alive compared to a modern game you can't hear car stereos while they're driving and stuff like a newer GTA

that DnB channel got me into music back when i was 7.

goddAMN

Braindead weeaboo. Go dilate.

i didnt give a shit about anything other than running people over and punching people. my dad had to scold me. lmao.

They were young lads in their 20's, magic, i don't know. But HD games can't compete

>they did it first
>driver 1 and 2 were before this, still 3d

drum and bass is absolute amazing. good taste user

imagine driving around listening to this

I'd say GTA III was still much more important and it was the first game to feel like true freedom

MY MOTHER'S MY SISTER

The look of it has lasting appeal. The world is filled with personality despite not being the size of GTAIV's Liberty City. Every distract feels distinct and has it own characters that populate it outside of the pedestrians. Also the radio was fun before it went 100% licensed.

DnB is LIFE mah dude

Drumsound Bassline Smith & Tantrum desire is probably the best DnB show I've been to

FYI MC Codebreaker made a lore-friendly MSX FM mod for GTA IV

WAAAAAAAT

If i ever replay GTA IV again, gonna install this for sure.

I blame this guy for my fucked up DnB addiction

oh fuck i saw dubphizix and strategy at a little bush rave nearby a couple years ago

strategy does not stop spitting, best UG dnb i ever fucking heard

man is the epitome of what a DnB MC should strive to be

Because not a single game in existence has been able to replicate the mob boss goon feeling to the same ability as this ever since. There has been plenty of EPIC REDDIT SUPER CRIMINAL SANDBOX MAN simulators that claim to do what GTA 3 is doing but they still fail to capture what III did. Vice City and IV were decent reattempts but VC still has that over the top take over the city scarface vibe and IV just doesn't hit close enough. It's a shame the actual gameplay and soundtrack isn't the best the series has to offer but it still feels like the game that most closely lives up to the title of the series

it's not a radio mod
it just adds the song to your music folder and replaces the independence fm logo
it's pretty stupid

You being a nostalgic manchild. 3 is shit, LCS did everything better.

MSX98 is fantastic as well
Hyper-On Experience - Disturbance gives me chills every time.

The amount of dudes Claude murdered who had lengthy cutscenes and missions, then you blow their car up/shoot them dead or whatever, and they're just gone, done.

Shit was fucking cold, and I loved it.

he's a musician, not a programmer. We should be grateful we even got it.
