I follow every single gaming news site but don't read any of their articles. I have never read a gaming article. I only read the headlines. And if I see a headline with a liberal slant on it I screenshot it immediately and report my findings on Yas Forums. I might only find one every two months or so but I make sure that everyone in the thread is under the impression that this makes up 99% of all games journalism and that if we do not become conservatives western civilization will be destroyed forever. You'd be amazed how well it works, too.

It started off as some people from Yas Forums laughing at some whore who cheated on her bf with 5 guys with the thin veil of "well she made a game so it's fine". Then her bf came out and revealed she slept with them and revealed their credentials, turns out they were on panels that gave her game good ratings at the competition it had taken part in. And when anyone tried to point it out, they got called sexist misogynistic making shit up even though there was proof.
That's about the extent of it. Everything after that, every single thing, was a shitshow. People started trying to monetize Yas Forums (and retards actually fell for it lmao), journos started saying "all gamers are dead" by posting massive coordinated article dumps, and tons of other shit. Just a disaster. If you take nothing else from it, remember that no game review is going to be explicit or upfront about bias or previous friendship/relationships with devs, especially in the indie scene. You can't trust reviews.

But that's also not something anyone who isn't a fucking teenager doesn't understand.

To me gamergate was about the collusion between the gaming media to push narratives. I was used to the gaming media being biased to their sponsors, Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft. But now they were teaming up to push their social values in the forefront of people who just wanna talk about video games. It was gross and the backlash was deserved. Unfortunately the backlash got painted as a sexist uprising and was ignored by most. But everyone here remembers what happened.

Personally I have no problem with Anita or Zoey. Anita had a point about women being largely misrepresented in games. And I don't care who Zoey sleeps with or why. If it helps her get gaming press then good, she earned it. But fuck Brianna Wu. I hate her so much, but admire how she was able to piss people and get attacked then turn those attacks against her into a career. Brianna is a professional victim and gamergate was a fantastic opportunity.

All in all it was necessary but I'm glad it's over.

Before gamergate the only thing we saw SJW related were diarrhea they were throwing out like Gone Homo and Depression Quest, and now that we gaslighted them they started going after AAA studios and changing the narrative when they become apart of the general media and cried oppression.
