Yes. It's old, but it's a classic gaming standard for a reason.

Diablo 2 is one of the most famous action rpgs of all time. I have fond nostalgia for it and personally think diablo 3 was a disappointment but I don't know how a new player would think of it today. Give it a try.

I remember having this exact screenshot as a poster on my room's wall when I was a kid, got it from some gaming magazine.

diablo 2 is by far the best game in the series and you should play it if you like action rpg games

people who were big fans of 1 and 2 hated 3 for a lot of reasons, most of which i agree with

one thing that will be most different is the game is balanced around skill trees and skill levels (e.g. i have level 20 fireball which shits on level 10 fireball) rather than stats for the most part. items will give +skill shit too. this will be different for you and take some getting used to because there is no "i equipped this sword that has 30% more intelligence so i do 30% more damage w spells" like in D3 or WoW or similar. However what makes it so cool is the flexibility and weird builds you can get from it.

the game has a super hardcore online community

like all diablo and action rpg games the difficulty on your first playthrough will be a little low and it might be boring until you start doing the high level nightmare shit

necromancer is the coolest class but because he can have a million skeletons fighting for him which can assrape demons on lower difficulties (before everything starts doing over 9000 elemental damage and you need to spec for resistances) it can feel a little bit like running on autopilot

Might be worth mentioning there are great mods for it too, like Median XL or PoD
