I've always liked Zack best in the unsung hero roll. I doubt most people even knew what he did for Cloud before Crisis Core. Guy was a good friend.

Nobody fucking likes Zack. He's the kind of reckless hero that 7 existed to tear down in favor of a more depressing take on the JRPG genre. The "cool" guy with the "big sword" trying to do the "right thing" is brutally gunned down and completely forgotten about, left to languish in some optional and well-hidden flashback. That's FF7 but nobody working on Square understands that.

Aerith and Tifa English VA are bad, extremely bad desu. Aerith sounds nervous, Tifa doesn't sound convincing at all. Jessie's VA didn't even try to hide the fact she's redoing her Persona 5 Futaba voice, so that's the third strike. Yuffie's English VA is totally gonna suck and it's gonna be awful because SE voice direction has a tone deaf retard. Dragon Quest voice direction aren't fucked, funny enough, think they hired some actual legit actors for DQ8 PS2's dub.

Nanaki, Barret, Cloud carry the English dub. Sephiroth is OK, the original Advent Children fag is still the voice to beat and I'm disappointed that guy wasn't called back to do the voice again.

You're an idiot. Cloud's inner voice is trying to reach out to him multiple times throughout the game. The scratches is referring to the time he followed Tifa to Mt. Nibel as a child and they fell off the bridge. Tifa got injured while Cloud only got a few scrapes. His true self is also trying to get him to remember who he is by asking Tifa about the events of Nibelheim 5 years prior.

Crisis Core is all cringy.

Real Cloud is mako poisoned and mute, like you see in Mideel before he's fixed. Clouds inner voice is Jenova, using Zacks imprint that retook control of itsself filling in the broken web of Clouds psyche.

After the Lifestream purges him of Jenova/Zack he reverts to mako poisoned Cloud until repaired with Tifa's help.

This is an overwhelming amount of headcanon. Cloud's inner voice has always been the real Cloud trying to get him to remember who he is. You physically see who is talking to him in the remake, and like everyone has always known, it's Cloud.
