Most future Sony exclusives will also appear on PC

>Sony wants to be more flexible and grow outside of its more traditional console-oriented ecosystem, which saw the PlayStation 4 as the nexus for a vast webwork of services and games. That plan worked well for console and game sales, but key services like PS Vue and PS Music faltered (even PS Now, despite being the most popular game streaming service, isn't nearly as big as the PS4's 106 million install base).

>The idea now is to deliver games to platforms that users already own, sell more games, and increase the PlayStation service ecosystem by proxy (these games will be hardwired with PS Network hooks).

>First it embraced cross-play, then it allowed downloads on PlayStation Now in an attempt to mimic Xbox Game Pass. Now it's making the most dramatic shift possible: Breaking PlayStation console exclusivity and bringing some of its biggest games to PC.

>So, in the future, the majority of Sony exclusives are highly likely to also appear on PC, either with a slight delay or immediately at launch

How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?

Attached: sdfn.jpg (779x382, 89.89K)

nigger even FFVII, MGS, and RE came out on PC a year or two after debuting on the original Playstation. This isn't new.

>How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?
After a decade of arguing how important great exclusives are(and how they have the best exclusives), they'll shift to arguing that exclusives don't and never mattered at all.

>reporting 3 month old news
ok

>How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?
SSD! SSD! SSD! It will bring you brand new girlfriend and better paying job, the glorious japanese SSD.

>most
more like flopped ones that sold like shit for a bit of extra cash for developers

Does this mean I don't have to buy a ps5?

>Nintendo games can be emulated
>Xbox games coming to PC through Game Pass
>Sony games also coming to PC

Being a PC gamer has never been more glorious

You never had to

It just means Sony, like Microsoft, is realizing that high-end PC gamers and console players are a very different crowd
Releasing a game on PC doesn't mean any lost sales on consoles or the other way around, it's just a bonus

Give Bloodborne already
I want to be in a middle of activity resurgence without ps+ getting in a way

Attached: 1560321628827.png (619x639, 604.69K)

If these games dont come out on other consoles they are still exclusives. PC is not a competing platform to PS, just like iPhone isnt

The main reason Sony makes games PS exclusives is because they get a 30% cut of every game sold on the Playstation platform, including multiplats that they had no thing to do with the development of. So they want to lure Joe Blow into becoming a playstation gamer with their discounted exclusives so that he buys COD12 on his Playstation and they get a cut of that.
But they can also get a cut of every game sold on their PC store, like how Valve gets a big cut of every game sold on Steam. The only problem is that PC has multiple other stores for the multiplat games to be bought on

>Releasing a game on PC doesn't mean any lost sales on consoles just a bonus
sony has said that for years they dont consider pc to be competition and multiplats being on pc wont hurt their sales

>2010
>here is a 40gb SSD. Thats 500$ please
>oh also because how technology works it will die in 3 years

the only thing i want from sony is everybody's golf, gravity rush and bloodborne everything else isn't really that great or worth the time

>How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?
Bought my PS4 two and a half years ago, already played most of the games I wanted and got more than enough use out of the console for my purchase to have been worth it. I'm completely fine with them coming to PC, I just stopped buying PS4 games and am instead filling out my PC backlog while I wait for the ports. I don't think I'm going to buy a PS5 though.

To be honest I don't understand why most console '''exclusives''' don't get ported to PC after like a year.

They already would have exhausted the benefit of them being an exclusive at that point (i.e. console was bought because of that game) and it means they get more profit.

Attached: interesting.webm (400x300, 440.76K)

Horizon Zero Dawn sold very well and its coming to PC.

Also this exactly the same way they did a 180 when Sony forced paid online.

No, this can't be happening, I'm in charge here

I'm not particularly a sony fan, but I sold my ps4 because the only reason I owned one was to play exclusives. It's going to be interesting to see how the future will turn out for them, porting games to PC didn't help MS sell more xboxes, I doubt it will help sony sell more playstations.

>How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?
Sony fans are normalfags that will still buy Playstation consoles no matter what.

Also remember having M2 drives back in 2010?

All I want is 60fps bloodborne sony. Please give us this.

2 can play this retarded game

>Jan 17

Are you actually retarded?

Attached: 1501280228816.jpg (400x300, 27.78K)

What the actual fuck? Are consolefags this dumb?

Attached: 1586444287512.gif (194x172, 1022.98K)

and Detroit Become Human, Death Stranding, and Horizon Zero Dawn have been confirmed on the PC since then.

What did you mean by your post?

O-oh...

That's good news

Don't forget the FF7 Remake.

I thought exclusivity was all about what consoles were about. What's the reasoning behind putting their games on PC? Hyper profit maximization?

>Sony copies what Nintendo and Xbox do
News at 11.

Snoys don't actually buy first party games in any meaningful number, especially now that sony thinks they need to put 10 years dev time and gtav budget into 2 hour cinematic campaigns.

Pretty much.

If I had to guess Sony are probably gonna launch their own online shop, otherwise they may need to review what the word exclusive needs.

>Advertise the game on a playstation channel
>uses PC footage instead
Its like they know where the quality is at

This will be the last console hardware gen. The future is "consoles" that are essentially pre built PCs with players like Sony going full service ala Netflix. There's no money to be made in console exclusivity any more, nor in being both a hardware and software producer.

>wanting ps4 sloppy seconds so bad that you will accept shitty ports
PCfags need some self-respect.

Attached: 1569604211529.jpg (225x225, 8.03K)

Amazing, user.

Attached: 1572980053150.gif (500x385, 191.05K)

>Nintendo
What nintendo games are on PC?

>omg we get to play ps4 sloppy seconds not at the release date but decade later
>pc won

PC is unironically the biggest joke of the industry, comparable with google play experience with their dog shit games.

Attached: ps4-game.webm (1280x720, 2.73M)

that was genuinely embarrassing, imagine mogging your own console because it has like 2gb of VRAM lmao

>they may need to review what the word exclusive needs.
Like they have been doing all gen already? There are plenty of meme images of their trailers with the fineprint and now we even have timed exclusivity sticker on ff7 remake.

Attached: 468366894564.jpg (474x318, 17.46K)

Look at that gameplay!
Can't wait to hold forward!

>the only good part of Sony exclusives is being able to play them on the release date
>afterwards they become dogshit comparable with google play experiences
Lmao

>inb4 Ghost of Tsushima gets a PC port too
news flash retard, it doesn't matter when or how long it takes for a port, as long as it get there we're good.
Patience is a virtue, we waited for games for a long ass time. And we got plenty of games to occupy that time.
Stay mad dirtbag

Damn what the fuck is the point of buying a playstation then? Everyone knows Xbox does multiplats better (assuming they're not on the PC). This is all Playstation had left.

None of those are first party.

>Buy XSX
>miss out on playstation games

>Buy PS5
>miss out on microsoft games

>Buy PC
>Get all games

Is there even a point in consoles any more?

>Patience is a virtue
Says every single pc fat.
Patience is the only option for pc fat if he want to experience quality games and not green light shovel ware, sorry, pc exclusives.

OH NO NO NO NO NO

AAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

>The future is "consoles" that are essentially pre built PCs with players like Sony going full service ala Netflix.

20 cents have been deposited to your Google Stadia marketing account. Please use it to buy a common sense book about the laws of physics and gaming data when streaming. Playstation Now, Stadia, and whatever Microsoft is doing in streaming = anti consumer, no ownership. Video games are not 1 and done like movies, you can't even compare "netflix" shit to it.

I do agree Sony has killed themselves and ruined their hardware forever. Just get everything on PC because they'll just port like whores.

>Playstation Now, Stadia, and whatever Microsoft is doing in streaming = anti consumer, no ownership. Video games are not 1 and done like movies, you can't even compare "netflix" shit to it.
normalfucks don't give a shit which is why they don't buy physical games any more

Reminder.
Snoyfaggots actually think their 5.5GB meme SSD will make games perform better.

They'll probably stay cheaper than PCs. If they don't then there is truly no reason to buy them

That does look good, but if you think that level of detail is possible at an acceptable framerate in the PS4 hardware you'd have to be lying to yourself. And graphically intense games such as Ghosts of Tsushima oftentimes have shallow mechanics.

Probably a mixture of console's architecture not lending itself to an easy port (PS3 comes to mind), devs lack of manpower or money to do said port and just contracts they sign with publishers to get money for said game development.

WHY FOR FUCKS SAKE
IS SONY RETARDED
FUCKIN TRAITORS

>imagine actually wasting money on irrelevant pc instead of getting $200 console that shits on any pc.
PC is obsolete garbage and will be replace by smartphones in near future.

>games cost more
>paid subscription to go online
>proprietary peripherals cost more
>need to buy both not to miss out on any games
not really

They're cheaper up front, not long term. I don't know why people forget this.

>horizon zero dawn

Aren't consoles sold nearly at cost these days? And with them being similar in architecture to PCs, porting has probably become easier. Makes sense to port games if it's cheap to do so and you don't need to sell a console you don't make much profit on

>Someone actually made this drivel
>People will actually believe it too
Fucking cringe.

>How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?
>Sony Fans
Not a Sony fan, but always had a Playstation since the original PS1.

Don't really give a shit desu. Consoles are a comfy and easy way to play some games and that'll stay that way, exclusives or not.

>How will Sony fans deal with losing all of their exclusives to PC?
Simple, they'll just shitpost about Nintendo even more than they usually do.

Yep, the key word here is QUALITY

Oops

Attached: sexvlact.png (741x471, 68.46K)

BLOODBORNE

>high-end PC gamers and console players are a very different crowd
so they give the same game to both? that makes no sense.

Look at how blurry that face is. Damn this game looks so much better on PC.

Consoles were almost always sold at a loss.
The PS4 and Xbone were unusual for being sold around the break even point. I doubt it'll happen again next gen.

Xbox Velocity Architecture will bring XSX close to PS5 SSD speeds :)
Xbox will have power and speed.

>blurry shit
LMAO

You wish neckbeard.

Yeah anything will look good when you put blur over everything.
The hair is pathetic btw

...it's already happening, retard. 4 "exclusives" are on their way to the PC.

PS5 has its own decompression for streaming from the SSD.
It's still about twice as fast as the XSX SSD when taking both compression systems into account, although I doubt speeds like that will really be useful.
