Grandia 1 is so boring

Except i got my wife to randomly shout the "piff puffy puff!" Cheer from that attack....
What's so boring about it? Have you only played like an hour or something?
Haven't you used the Yas Forums-slash yet?
im 3 hours in
It's good until you get to disc 2 and then it becomes shit.
explain why it become shit?
You've still got a whole game to go, OP. Can't just say it's boring when the game hasn't even started yet.
Yeah I know, ">game gets good x hours in meme" or whatever, but you really haven't even started the game yet. I think the game took me around 45 hours or so and you're not even 10% through the game yet.
I can't recall when I started to get into it, but I think it was once you meet Feena and break away from the Adventure's guild to basically explore the world.
Disc 2 immediately introduces a much higher grinding to plot ratio with significantly less interesting environments than in disc 1. I also remember the plot getting pretty stupid but it's been long enough that I can't remember why.
That’s like what, about when you first get on the boat? It’s up to you, but I’d advise you to keep at it at least until you get your third permanent party member.
Grandia 1 is maximum comfy, what do you find boring?
sorry but this is a bait thread
The only real grind needed in part 2 is if you want to unlock certain magic because of the stupid leveling system. Grandia 2 fixed that, thankfully.
Understandable, have a good day.
>needed
I'm talking about all the random battles you have to do provided you are not running from every encounter in the game.
Questions:
How do I play this? I see the Saturn version is the best but it's only in Jap? No english patch? PS1 then?
Stay away from Switch and PC remaster?
Undub or nah?
Saturn is shit. play the switch version
PC can be modded, but the “remastered” graphics are pretty ugly, so avoid Switch unless you don’t have another option. Also the Switch version has a weird glitch where occasionally characters will shout special moves in English even with Japanese audio. Nothing gamebreaking, but enough to make it the least desirable.
I liked Grandia 1 and 2
>Undub or nah?
As someone who always goes with the original audio I can say that in this case it barely even matters because it's a rare example of the Japanese audio being shit too.
>bought grandia a while back
>want to play it
>don't want to burn myself out on rpgs because I'm also playing eo4
>xeno next month
oh hey its the voice actor of shirou
>Also the Switch version has a weird glitch where occasionally characters will shout special moves in English even with Japanese audio.
They didn't fix that with the most recent patch?
That's how the HD version is unfortunately.
They didn't fix that in the pc version?
Nope, you have to mod it back to normal.
Meh, might as well emulate the psx version.
just play it you fucking autist
Go for the Saturn version.
Is the translation complete?
soullllllllllll
Fuck the optional endgame dungeons.
The story picks up at the boat. Coincidence, that's around 3 hours in.
I've only ever played xtreme back during ps2 days. Are the other games worth playing?
Iwadare in general is an overlooked composer. Most of the jazzy arranges in Smash are by him.
Series has best mons.
I mean moms.
Yep. Pretty looking game hut a complete snoozefest.
Thanks OP, I was looking for something to replay during this lockdown
Give me a good non-square/enix jrpg to play
I mean, for the first two, they were cut dungeons that were put as bonuses (there is storyboards for the mansion too, plot would have been about the ghosts of a couple that were killed by the boss, after that They would have possessed Justin and Feena for a last dance.
you are right, the game should look like every square enix final fantasy.
All char. need cool as fuck hair style and have to be dressed in some blackish tiffany costume.
We need to change the story too, some time fuckery and new age meme's, also remove all the anti women jokes. Remove love theme. You get the idea.
On top of this, as with Final Fantasy new age gameplay, we need to make it more easier, just one button press, quike, action, effects that fill the screen where nobody is able to tell what is going on, kids love this.
And, of course, make it shorter and fill it with fetch quests. Only release the town part.
Alos, use muh Unreal 4, easy to make graphic blender, kids will love this.
Shadow Hearts
Breath of Fire
Suikoden
Legend of Legaia
SaGa/The Last Remnant (though SE published it)
Jade Cocoon
SMT Nocturne, Raidou, Digital Devil Saga, Strange Journey
Grandia games
Star Ocean games(also published by SE) / basically any game made by Tri Ace
Rogue Galaxy
These come to mind right now.
I'll mention Trails in the Sky, though the series is abit divisive.
If you love getting to know every NPC's own little story (even if it's mundane stuff) is your thing, you should love this. Otherwise, steer clear.
I really, really wanted to fuck the purple one.
>That changing room scene
god this looks so fucking bad
why settle for these garbage ass filters, who likes this shit?
1 has mediocre gameplay and a simplistic adventure plot for better or worse. 2 has improved gameplay and a pretty good plot and cast. 3 has the best gameplay but the worst plot and cast and also a shit dub with no undub.
I wish i coud go back and enjoy the trails/kiseki series like i used to, now i see it only as waifufaggotry and powerlevel shounen autism fest that it is.
thanks rean
>who likes this shit?
Normies
>Normies
t. normalfag
i like it...........
The xeno series bar gears because square
Digimon Cyber Sleuth/hackers memory
The Etrian series
Octopath which is only published by square
Paper Mario TTYD
SMT 3, 4 and 4A
The Lunar series
Valkyria Chronicles
Breath of Fire 3 and 4
Golden Sun, stay far away from Dark Dawn
The Disgaea series
Atelier Ryza
i can't tell you what to enjoy, but do you really prefer sprite filters to the original graphics?
>patch in filter option for 2
>completely ignore 1
FUCK
It's an 80 hour game
because 2 is a better game
This game has no random encounters and unlike a lot of games with on-screen enemies, it's super easy to evade them.
You are right, I misremembered that it had enemy symbols. That said, you're still missing the point that disc 2 has far more combat compared to the story compared to disc 1. Going out of your way to avoid enemies doesn't change this because you could have done the same thing in disc 1.
ryudo
That level of fanservice was based and unexpected. The game got away with maybe one or two sex jokes but being able to creep on the three main villainesses in their undies in a non ecchi game was one of the most satisfying things I've done in a JRPG
