Semi related, I downloaded the latest version of the reunion mod, and for the life of me can figure out where to change the new mouse and keyboard control mapping. The launch menu input doesn't override what the mod installs. I had this figured out years ago, pls help.

I can. This isn't the biggest fuckup. Honestly, if you look at just the overall feedback, FF7R is clearly a success. I just find it funny as hell how much it's completely crushed Yas Forums's hopes and dreams.
But yeah, Squeenix isn't Bethesda. This really doesn't compare to what they did with Fallout.

Skipping side content, and actually trying to use the ATB/stagger system to its fullest to maximize kill time, I was at 21 hours at the end.
Most people seem to be in the 30s if they skip side content, and i can only assume its because people arent using ATB/stagger effectively.
They do stupid shit like dodge rolling around, and leaving characters with ATBs charged.
Ideally you pressure an enemy with magic (preferably with their weakness) then use high stagger moves, followed by high dmg ATB actions.
(Summon actions are better than all of those, most ppl summon, and then ignore them until they unleash their finisher)
Also, while you're using spells, or ATB actions, you're going to be animation locked, and cant use auto attack to fill the ATB, which slows down the pressure.
The moment you activate a skill/spell, instantly switch characters, to keep the auto attacks up, and fill their gauges quicker.
The slightest amount of missing dps makes the difference between a 3min fight, and a 15minute fight. Despite such a small difference.
When your character gets hit by a move, instantly switch, dont want for the animation lock to end.
