Ubisoft has this nasty thing going on with game formulas, once they hit jackpot once, they’re gonna keep milking the same ideas for so long that they run dry. Assassin’s Creed 2 is the most obvious one, setting the main formula for all their open world games afterwards, but yea, Far Cry 3 also has a lot of stuff that they just can’t let go.

Far Cry is only meant to be in a tropical setting. That's why 4, 5, and whatever the fuck the standalone post apocalyptic one and caveman ones are named sucks. I remember 4 hinted at the next game being South America and that would've been cool. It was also implied that 1,2,3 and 4 were all loosely connected through Jack Carver and the CIA/Diamonds. It just sucks that they dropped all of it. Plus the games just stopped being fun. 3 was its peak

Yeah if you run between the fields as they burn Jason actually gets a high. The screen slightly distorts and he makes comments about it.
Also yeah as everyone says Vaas is underutilized but there's actually a decent amount of good characters like pic related

My personal favorite was when they got the idea that having aerial recon is cool, so you got drones in Ghost Recon and some eagle/hawk/whatever birdview in Assassin’s Creed. Not even an era gap of over 2 millenia can stop the copying of ideas.

I have no idea how they went from the variety of FC4 into launching 5 with a couple of ARs copypasted multiple times in different skins
they went backwards instead of forwards, simply combining all the weapons from 2 to 4 into one arsenal would've been better than what they ended up doing
