Didn't think I would ever hear that in Final Fantasy of all things. It takes a real pro of a director to make that call and say "You know what this scene really needs more than anything? Classic rock." He very deliberately choose it and it fucking works

I learned this shit ages ago. Any game Yas Forums vehemently hates for stupid reasons turns out to be good. Pay attention to the complaints people have for these games. If you see Yas Forums complain about bugs, shitty gameplay, deleted saves, corrupted files, massive plotholes, or other legitimate complaints then chances are the game is faulty.

If you see repetitious memes and screencaps of trivial, irrelevant shit like shitty dialogue in ONE scene, muddy textures on a building 1000 feet in the distance, an SJW or liberal line of dialogue in a menu or from some random NPC, a redesign they nitpick, etc. then chances are the game is good. I noticed this shit with DmC. Ever wonder why Yas Forums only posted about the WET CHUNKS or FUCK YOUUUU shit? Because the gameplay is rock solid. Ever notice Yas Forums only shit on MGS5 because of the twist? Because the gameplay is fucking perfection in digital form. Ever notice Yas Forums only posts OHNONONO posts for the Princess Beach line from Death Stranding? Because the game is an interesting breath of fresh air. Notice Yas Forums only shitposts about Claire's face looking weird during cutscenes? Because the game is a masterpiece. Lastly, ever notice Yas Forums only complains about the time ghosts in FF7R? Because the gameplay, side content, atmosphere, and music are fantastic. This place is the CNN of videogame boards - sensationalize one small, irrelevant aspect of something and blow it out of proportion in hopes that it catches on and starts a movement.

i'm only up to stealing things of jessie's catatonic father but this game is so much better than ffxv regardless of where the story goes.

The criticism regarding the gameplay is valid. It's pretty on-rails, that complaint is at least true. All these damn forced-walking segments while the characters exposition dump? Not you too, final fantasy... Every game wants to be le walkie talkie movie simulator these days.

I don't mind it too much because the entire midgar section was on rails too in the original. In fact, it felt a bit more open thanks to the part where you could freely explore and do sidequests.

This scene sealed the deal for me. I don't care how much of the original story they have to change for these characters to live, just make it happen.
Actually I feel the best parts of this game are the scenes with the subplots not found in the original game. Anything where they start following the original main story (or expanding on it with ghosties) is the worst part of the game for sure.

I agree. I'm going to play the game, when it releases on PC (which probably means after all episodes are out - 3-5 years), but it can't be as bad as a few shitposters make it out to be.
I was pissed at DmC, because I'm a fan of DMC and I wanted DMC5, but yeah, it was a pretty fun game regardless.

Sure, it's a good game if you like Advent Children / Kingdom Hearts or if you never played FF7.

Never played a FF game before, is FF7 Remake worth making it the first FF game? Is it actually a complete game? The PS store page says something to extent of "First chapter of remake".

It's not a complete game by any means. It isn't really a remake too because as I heard it throws the story off the rails by the end. Haven't finished it myself but hopefully will get to the end this weekend.

Funny thing, Yas Forums actually talked me into buying it with it's shitposting. I was expecting a faithful remake to the original up to the escape from Midgar, but I was shown time travel antics and changebad ghosts so it piqued my interest.

Just finished it and it was one of the best game experiences iv had in last 10 years even tho the ending was retarded as fuck. I havent heard anyone say its bad from those who bought the game. Here in Yas Forums you get the feeling that its unplayable 4/10 shit for some reason.

Yeah, there are things I don't like, for example much of the soundtrack feels like a weak shadow of the original, but there are also some pretty nice tracks, also not the biggest fan of shoving Sephiroth down our throats and all those antics with the changebad ghosts, but overall it's still a great game and it feels great playing it.
