Non-shitpost answer from someone who owns no modern consoles:
Nintendo has (apparently) good games, but they play it very safe. They rarely make anything new, and when they do, it's not particularly mindblowing (Splatoon is an outlier). Nintendo stays afloat because of dedicated fanboys who will buy and enjoy every Mario and Zelda game.
Sony just overall has more varied stuff, be it for better or worse. For every Bloodborne you have 20 The Lasts of Us.
Microsoft is just a joke and nobody cares about them.

Given the way consoles have launched over the past 20 years, I don't see the rush, at all. Until 2015 the only games available on Xbone or PS5 were either underwhelming or available on PS360

Sony has just been irredeemable liquid feces after the PS2 days and they get worse by the year. PS3 era was already bad, PS4 was simply insufferable with a single good game for an entire generation in a span of 7 years. If the trend continues I can't even start to imagine to what lows they will sink with their CinemaStation 5.
I don't even know why Microsoft is in the video games business. I really don't. All their games are uninspired, generic trash. It's like all the fags they have that make games don't even want to make them, but see it as a necessity because they were told so.
