It's 2020 and I'm still finding new things to do in this game.

did you know you can skip the start up of the first chain saw attack.

The balance in this game is sublime

There are so many ways to still score Pure Platinums with whatever weapon combination you want on NSIC, no MoMK or GoD required

I'm still having fun speedrunning Pure Platinums and finding new ways to save time. The most shocking thing is that there are many encounters where the Kilgore Glitch actually scores you a Pure Platinum slower than through regular fighting

Also try using Kilgore on hands against the Auditio bosses, they WW hit so many times that you can stunlock them for entire phases

BAYO-FUCKIN-ETTA

It truly is the greatest game of all time.

Grace and Glory>Gracious and Glorious

so is she a spaniard or what

Her parents are both british as fuck but she was born in Vigrid which is clearly in France

She's probably French

so that means bayonetta is a nigger?

I nigger that I would let ride me for kalpas

post bayo pics.

>Also try using Kilgore on hands against the Auditio bosses
It feels so good to abuse this shit on Sapientia keep attacking his face

>Man, how come I never use Odette?
>silver combo rank even on enraged enemies
Oh yeah, that's why.

is there any difference between them on nsic?

I just uninstalled this game, 10 hours in and its just too fucking boring.

Oh no, it works too well.

Also here's my times if anybody cares, dunno if there are any faster times for a legit Pure Platinum NSIC playthrough, also I got hella tips and tricks if you're struggling with anything

huh i've never seen this costume

should i keep trying?
replaying for first time on pc after i played it on released at xbox , i'm not a big fan of hack & slash generally despite playing them i never bother with ranks

Do I seriously have to re-do an entire chapter if I don't get Pure Platinum on a certain verse?

Do you reset fights or can you actually play trough the levels and pure platinum
I'm like 70ish hours in my save platinum all difficulties and beat roddin but i can't play trough the level and pp without constant resets and that doesn't feel legit

I use mostly just the normal guns and double fire durga for fire enemies, and sometimes take out the sword when I want bit dick damage, can you give me the rundown on the other weapons and where they're useful?

I've beaten hard and I'm working on getting at least a platinum overall rank in normal before I go to infinite climax. I know dodge-offset and all of those tricks, my problem is just that I get sloppy sometimes.

I just unlocked Sai Fung. These things are so cool. They really should have gave them earlier.

If you fuck up you can reset and you'll be put at your last checkpoint so you can retry the verse immediately. It's kinda cheating though.

If you dont really enjoy playing it then I suggest stopping entirely, but if you enjoy it then hell yes keep trying. There are a million little things you pick up over hundreds of hours playing it that drastically change how you'll approach fighting each enemy and scoring each chapter and verse

Not always, 99% of verses autosave just before they show you the score card, but some don't and you can abuse that

I reset when it comes to actually speedrunning Pure Platinum times so I can do things as absolutely perfectly as possible. In Normal play I have only PPd the prologue, Chapters 1, 2, 8, all the bosses, 15, and the epilogue

I could write a book about all the weapons. I'll do it in another post

Goddamn user how much free time do you have? I can barely do Pure Plats in Hard. It’s been hell and a half for me but doing it has made me appreciate how in-depth Bayonetta is. For the sake of my sanity, I don’t think I’ll pure plat Infinite Climax but you have my upmost respect for pulling that shit off.

>It's kinda cheating though.
Knowing Kamiya's sadistic nature he would consider it cheating.

I've got some 2k hours spread over 5 years of playing

Also here’s my progress so far. I’ve been on and off with Bayonetta because playing other games in my backlog helps me retain my sanity.

well i enjoy it i just dont enjoy dmc or when enemies hit me after i press dodge
would you advice to keep playing forward or keep repeating the same level over and over?

Attached: 20200403233005_1.jpg (1920x1080, 277.66K)

I don't really see the point in Pure Platinum's honestly. Everyone knows you just restart if you get knicked, it's a real shallow ranking imo

Attached: 20200405235459_1.jpg (1920x1080, 545.69K)

I'm trying to git gud at Bayonetta but fuck the first game is punishing. It's not like most modern games were it goes easier on you if you're bad, if you play like shit you just get punished even harder with stone awards and no magic meter.

What's the best way to regain health without impacting your score? I'm on hard right now and I find the main problem is that by the end of the mission by health has gotten constantly chipped at.

This image gave me a boner,

>What's the best way to regain health without impacting your score?
don't get hurt lmao shitter

I'd suggest keep trying. It can take quite a fucking while for it it to click but once it does you'll feel it.
if you haven't, learn dodge offset.
also I'd actually suggest trying to go for plat after beating it because unlike most other 3d hack'n'slashes ranked play is a natural extension of regular play rather than changing your entire approach

Shoot EVERY object you see between verses. Remember you can press Y to automatically shoot your gun. But really this Git gud

Really? Also, Bayo 3 when?

I'll break down a couple to what they do best since otherwise I'll be here all day and break character limit 6 posts in a row.

Scaroborugh Fair is super balanced and has average scoring ability off melees. The constant gunshots stop your combos from breaking but also make enemies like G&G block more, which is bad. Really solid damage and combo when you fire constant streams and the melees are fast and give you good control over enemies.

Onyx Roses rape the shit out of G&G, Joys, and Jeanne. Many of the same positives as SF

Shuraba has stupid good combo score per hit and does super high damage, the only downside is how strong it's Wicked Weaves are and how you have to use something else to reset your combo degradation, some of those tools are in your universal moveset though.

Kilgore can get stupid good combo damage due to being an AOE, has high damage, and the melees stun G&G, Joys, and Jeanne for extremely long times and are one of the best weapons for fighting them with. I recommend dual Kilgore for anybody struggling to PP the game for the first time.

Kulshedra is excellent at air combos, at being a ranged weapon to keep your combo going from afar, terrible for Joys and G&G without using Bracelet of Time, the only weapon I will say is nearly entirely useless against Jeanne. The slap moveset after you've pulled an enemy in or after you've pulled yourself to an enemy functions like normal melees and you can chain it with anything else.

Durga is one of my favorite weapons ever. It does really high combo damage in fire form, and is super fast in Lighting form. Just don't use the charge modifiers too much, they do really high damage. The bullet climax for this weapon (stick in a circle then press p or k) is amazing. It comes out almost instantly, stunlocks enemies, it interrupts everything G&G, Joys, and Jeanne do. The only downside is how much self restraint you need when using these weapons.

Char limit

Look up dodge offset, it's a game changer. You need to hold down attack buttons when doing combos in this game to use the charge properties of your weapons.

I legitimately can't fap to Bayonetta because she's way too cool. I don't know what it is with me, but i can't feel motivated to fap to a vidya character I have respect for, doesn't feel right.

My biggest advice to anybody wanting to get better as well, is to do one playthrough with just one weapon to really learn its ins and outs against every enemy.

Attached: sample_4713a1f572d5d4ecea67ef9ca873cc57.jpg (850x607, 49.66K)

I believe it's harder to stun gracious and glorious

Gracious & Glorious read your inputs to an obnoxious degree.

Buy the butterfly accessory. It gives you a shield that will absorb attacks at the cost of magic.

Clean up your awards on very easy and make it perfect, user.

nope didnt even get round to finishing it.

>tfw you learn Kusheldra whip rodeo gives absurd combo points for literally zero investment

Last year I discovered that you can still continue a combo after shooting a single gunshot with your shoot button. You can use this to stop your combo from breaking at a distance while you either try to start a setplay or are trying to get to a specific attack in a combo to get a specific weave or effect you want. It's got very strict timing but it's very useful.

I've been trying but PPing Very Easy is a huge slog. Look forward to the hell of doing it with Jeanne though.

Chapter 5 in 11:36 was my biggest challenge. There are still ways I can optimize literally all of the chapters but it's going to take serious grinding out the performance.

>Unlock Jeanne
>realize that this means I'll have to play another 100 chapters to get her Sai Fung
Epik

I felt this way at first but then it made me fap to her more. One of my favorite vidya characters though.

I think Bayonetta's ruined me when it comes to playing other action games. You have so much control and freedom with Bayonetta and all of the challenge comes from the extremely tough and constantly attacking enemies. I have a hard time getting into DMC because of how stiff it feels in comparison, and the enemy design in 3 is just bad, 1's is okay though.

As for Platinum's and Kamiya's games I rank them:
Bayo 1 > W101 > Viewtiful Joe > Okami > Astral Chain > DMC 1 > Bayo 2

Attached: bayonetta candy.png (487x600, 250.35K)

Holy Macaroni user, you're the boss! I decided to try PP a few chapters just to say I did. Quit to the title screen so many times I chose to never PP again. Now I'm satisfied if I score regular plats per chapter.

Attached: Bayonetta_20200315125742.jpg (1920x1080, 286.25K)

not him but yes however the thing is that you develop a feel for if you hit the requirements or not.
damage is fairly obvious
time is super forgiving, you can easily fuck around a bit and still get a plat
and if you didn't break the combo multiplier and used high damage attacks in moderation you're pretty much guaranteed to get a plat

>What's the best way to regain health without impacting your score?
if you're going for ranks you shouldn't even be needing heals because you shouldn't even be hit in the first place since you want a plat in damage
basically don't bother with ranks until you actually beat the game. then once you've got the knowledge get those plats

How come Bayonetta 2 has such a pitiful OST when compared to the masterpiece that is 1? The composer is the same, right?

Attached: Affinity Intro.webm (720x480, 1.02M)

I agree on dmc, but there are other action games I'm enjoying a lot like bayo. Ninja Gaiden 2 and sekiro are among my all time favorites.

Don't feel like you need to PP the game at all. It's more important that you just love the game and slowly get so familiar that you start to naturally PP things. Most people start just praying "dont get hit dont get hit!" but then as your familiarity and knowledge grow you start to understand exactly how things work in each fight and see the matrix

Im gonna add to this that your combo score changes the multiplier linearly. Really only the left score matters and the multiplier just changes based on milestones the left number hits. If you get to 900, you get the 9.0x multiplier, and then you get the 9.9x at 1100. if you can get comfortable earning the 900 score you will almost guarantee a Platinum in combo requirements every single verse.

What about oddette, the laser guns, pillow talk, and sai-fung?

Ueda intentionally went for a more cheery and upbeat style according to the Platinum blog. I think all the music turned out worse because of it. Hard to believe he did both the first game and DMC1's OST.

Attached: 6d6465fbe12bd926871be626605599a9.jpg (667x1000, 180.39K)

They just couldn't surpass 1's OST. Helena Noguerra simply cannot be topped.

>decide to finally play jeanne
>have fun
>hit the first WT alfheim
>surely they wouldn't expect you to do 5+ moth withins on first try
>they actually do
GOD DAMN YOU KAMIYA YOU SADISTIC FUCK

At what point does it become kosher to use things like the Bazillions? I don't know why I care so much when I'll just kilgore glitch to delete fuckers like Kinships or Inspired.

Attached: 1538675593223.jpg (1407x956, 167.7K)

The lack of full Paradiso focus ruined it in the end, it seems
the only thing that it did better is more colors since the new town wasn't as close to Paradiso so no more gold filter
It's not just that, Bayo 1 OST also is a lot bigger and has neat things like every Cardinal Virtue having multiple short intro songs instead of just their boss theme, there being 4 angel intro themes instead of just 1 etc

Attached: Old Balder was right, so wonderfully right.png (438x500, 21.28K)

Pillow Talk is a meme but fun to use when you charge it. I barely consider it a real weapon. Bazillions is scarborough fair, but more damage, which is bad for combo scoring. It's fun to use, and is also fun as a combo tool since the lasers can pin enemies in place midair.

Odette is what I truly have almost no experience with even after 2k hours. I honestly just recommend it as a supporting tool rather than a main weapon. It can give you big combo score if you can throw a frozen enemy into many others and the kicks are very fast, which is useful for catching G&G if you hit them from behind or punish them after a whiff.

Sai Fung is amazing but its combo score degrades extremely rapidly. It's made for fast and precise attacks and its strong Wicked Weaves. I think it's one of the worst weapons for scoring and I have no strategies in my entire playthrough that use it.

It's still an amazing weapon for casual play though.

Attached: 1541362836316.jpg (762x1000, 515.56K)

There is so much SOUL in Bayonetta 1 that Kamiya will never be able to top it ever again.
