What old mmos did you play as a mid?
What old mmos did you play as a mid?
Other urls found in this thread:
Perfect World International. It was pretty neat
i tried a lot of them back in the day, but the most i played was tibia and flyff
Flyff.
Such a grindy piece fo shit and the fly for fun never actually happens because most of the time you're just killing the same monster over and over again.
I briefly played trickster.
I played so many of them Korean grindy p2w shits, and it was great.
>Fly for Fags
This was unironically a great game right up until Skill Points which ruined it. I was amazed that the game is still running even though it has like 0 people playing it. I really liked the idea of being able to find some random people and attack a large boss-type enemy.
For me, it's Sherwood Dungeon
Tales of Pirates.
Ragnarok Online iRO.
Played on Chaos/Loki since beta until Sakray came out with 2x/2x rates. Then botted and got caught so many times.
The only one I ever truly had fun in
wyvern and faldon, hell yeah
I played Flyff. I even knew at the time it was garbage but I couldn't stop playing. Then I moved on to FFXI and played that for years. I miss that one.
Fucking Funcom and their launches. Went back to EQ before picking this up again much later.
Dofus
Wow
Ro
Ragnarok
Tibia
And a lot of other shit i dont even remembet the name of. I wish there was a list of all mmos made.
Also, tought that furcadia was a mmo but yeah...
Dragon Raja.
ROSE
Getamped 2.
Tales of Pirates
Maplestory
Gaia Online's dumb mmo thing
Runescape
toontown
i played a bunch of free ones for a few weeks at a time but nothing for very long
i think fiesta or something is maybe the one i played the second most of
oh fuck right runescape i forgot that
so fiesta is third
I literally met my wife playing Trickster when we were both kids. Didn't realize what a trap the dragon turned into when I was younger.
Ah shit, this was my jam back in the day. Unfortunately never got to the point where I can make my own mecha. Not to mention that the game is quite a grind if you don't have party.
I feel so fucking old.
This game was comfy.
FUCK I MISS TRICKSTER
Maplestory (which I still play the KR version) and I played whatever was fotm/new other than that. For a while I played trickster, RO, lineage 2, wow, ff11, luna online, solstice, fiesta, aion, cabal, rappelz, raiderz, gunz, exteel, sdgo, gundam online (with /m/), and too many more to count, none of them ever stuck or made me want to play for longer than a month or two though.
Priston Tale
runescape was my first mmo in middle school
then I played conquer 2.0 with a bunch of vietnamese dudes back in high school
some time after that, I moved to Silkroad Online alone and holy shit was that a grindfest, but I loved it
Does Neopets count?
Same. I started playing UO in 8th grade. Got my new high school friends into it freshman year, and we played it all the way up through the end of high school. We dabbled in EQ, AC and the other big MMOs of the time. WoW came out when we were sophmores in college, and we moved on to that.
Runescape. Played it a few years before it went 3d. I recall the beta they had for it back then. Brother got me watching a a video series of a guy doing an ironman run in morytania, which almost has sparked my interest to go back and play it. Until he mentions however long he spends on one grind or another.
The Sims Online, Star Wars Galaxies
GemStone III, took years to get to a decent level but it was the most immersive MMO I’ve ever experienced.
I played Dofus back when we only had 50 hours of 56kbs internet a month coming from a modem.
I wouldn't say it really counts but I played a ton of PangYa back in the day.
This and pretty much every other free to play wow clone that came out in the mid-2000s. If it was f2p and 3d I played it.
Every single one of them was shit too. Fraught with p2w gear and bugs.
my nigga
youtube.com
FlyFF was the shit back then
Don't want to make a new thread.
Can you recommend a mmorpg to play right now, something other than WoW and ESO?
Or some coop game in general where you have supports role. I liked to play tank and heal.
I'd play Overwatch but it is fucking boring.
That game taught me geometry and how to more speedily do basic math, and got me through college and even got me a job since I wrote tons of trainers for it to automatically detect proper aiming patterns.
It's a shame about the pservers dying. It lasted a good long while though
Any decent f2p shit to play with friends today?
The Trinity right now is basically the final fantasy mmo, WoW and Guild Wars 2. everything else is either a ghost town running in borderline maintenance mode or some early access/in development hell hole
Grall online
weird af, but funny game
Forgot to add, if you're looking for a fun co-op game I would wholeheartedly recommend Earth defense Force 4.1 or 5. They're great action RPG co-op games
It's hard to say, you can't really get a plain ass mmo anymore because the west is too heavily invested in ff and wow that new mmos never succeed, so china/korea stopped bringing games over. you have other games like bdo that claim to be mmos but they're just gigantic grind simulations where you spend hours and hours and more and more money to keep up with others (though the combat on bdo is pretty fun if you manage to find someone around your skill level that didn't just throw $15,000 at the game to max shit out). Also doesn't have "support" in the traditional sense. archeage is much the same (though you may want to try unchained, it's a much less p2w version that you buy into, has a free weekend this weekend).
PSO2 maybe when it eventually comes out in english on pc. You could play the JP version if you want but you'll face the same problem you'll face on the eng version where all the cool shit has already happened. At least the NA version will be drip feeding content and it'll feel new even if it really isn't.
I swear to God it was called Sherwood Forest
briefly played flyff, 4story and some other similar mmos and then airrivals/ace online for like 7 years
sherwood forest was the original one, sherwood dungeon was the proper "MMO" that had equipment and levels and stuff.
GOD I MISS TRICKSTER ONLINE
ALSO MINI FIGHTERS, ESPECIALLY THE PVP IN THE BETA
ALSO S4, WHERE THE FUCK IS S5
literally nobody but me remembers concerto gate
>set macro to grind skills/stats while AFK
>used my play time to just fool around and have fun
Good times.
Dofus, though with corona the servers are full but they launched two new servers so it might be fine now.
dofus is nothing at all like a traditional mmo in any way shape or form.
also
>p2p
lmao
It's not really p2p, I've been playing for years without paying anything. You can pay your sub with in game money and during the free trial you can get enough to get started. And it's really easy to get enough money for that.
But yeah, the gameplay's special. You have to like SRPGs. Same thing with DFO, the game is good but the gameplay is special. Still DFO is way more scummier than Dofus.
Didn't have internet as a kid/teen. First MMO was city of villains though. Level 30 pvp was good shit.
Played Shaiya for years after that, and then Aion...
And now MMOs are shit cus party builder functionality killed any need to talk to anyone.
Holy fuck I thought this was a fever dream. Was it hosted on miniclip for a while? I remember farming skeletons next to a respawning health potion
Zaap d'Astrub, home.
>it's still getting updated
But that's Amakna.
I bet none of you faggots ever played the garbage heap that was Eden Eternal
