Once 2B is dead you only have like 3-5 hours of the game left lol.
It's basically the same thing as Resident Evil 2, play route A, then route B as a different character with minor differences, finishing both unlocks end game.
How long does it take to beat this game, and will I miss out on not having finished Nier beforehand?
Like 30 hours depending on play style and no you'll get some references if you did play nier but you won't notice otherwise
if you skip everything like maybe 18 hours? and no only some references here and there, games are pretty stand alone. it took me like 40 hours to 100% the game

I'm replaying it just 3 years later and the story itself is not the big thing, but the build of some of the characters and the fact that is pretty interesting to try to discover the lore makes this game to have some magic in it.
The machine lifeforms have total charisma, the ost is 10/10 and 2B is the hottest main character never designed. This game is something because its art, some epic moments and the touching way in machines try to be human and fail. Its not perfect but is solid and the best game published by Square-Enix in a decade
