Not only is it a waste but also incredibly difficult to get looking right. One little mistake in looks or actuation of the facial muscles and you have a nightmare creature instead of a sexbot. Meanwhile simplistic featureless head designs with big expressive eyes are way easier to make and look 100 times more appealing.
