Great.
Next question.
Is this like Harvest Moon or Rune Factory?
It's alright
No, it's real time instead of game time. It's more of a life sim than a "game" with a goal and objectives.
sick of all the dialog and constant prompts. feels like the game is stuck in tutorial mode even 20 hours in. constantly asking questions for things i wanna do, coupled with individual batching, and a prompt for every action taken. let me fucking play the game.
If I walk up to the crafting station, it's to fucking craft. why the fuck would you ask me if I want to craft?
it's honestly a great game but people who are bitter will always find something to complain about
...it asks you if you want to craft or customize... Are you sure you're 20 hours in?
Honeymoon phase is over. It kinda sucks. It's barebones and these events are ass. And it's outright shit if you want to play with anyone else.
PG and NL beat it by a mile.
user could still be on day 1
Why would it ask me craft or customize? Why can't it just be a different menu i can access using R or L or ZR or ZL in the crafting menu?
I like it. My first AC.
Im about 11 days in
They're two completely different menus. Customize opens your inventory. Might as well be asking why you can't access your jukebox from your inventory.
Do kinda agree with this guy. Theres so much quality of life shit they could add to fix so much shit.
Its decent, the soul is still there, but its also thoroughly disappointing at the same time. Many of its shortcomings could corrected through patches. I certainly expected better at launch.
>Ugly/horribly designed villagers
>Sentient villagers who can't stand you having more than one conversation with them
>Can't craft from storage
>Can't craft in multiples
>Crafting tools
>The vast amount of items that are NOT customizable
>Basically the entire crafting mechanic
>Breakable golden tools
>Certain customization items are found to be different colors for players
>Some vendors not having their own shops
>Not being able to relocate bridges/inclines
>Hourly music being locked until the Town Hall is built
>Hourly music falls very short, and quickly becomes irritating
>Random Island Tours are overpriced and very underwhelming
What? that's not even the same thing. But now that you mention it, why can't the crafting menu use items from storage? it's stupid as fuck
No, it really isn't, while it may look similar at a glance the games play totally different
>Certain customization items are found to be different colors for players
correction here, I meant "Certain Noncustomizable items"
It’s my first Animal Crossing.
105 Hours or more in 10 days.
Very well put, I was quite dissapointed too, but in the end its still Animal Crossing. Any die hard fan isn't going anywhere. Theres just a lot more tedium this time around.
>worse dialogues than past games
>lacking furniture series
>breakable gold tools
>terrible online
>awful menus
>pointless campsite only to sell cards
Nintendo puts presentation above convenience. They will not let you open the menu and build things like in Minecraft because it "devalues" the product presentation and makes it look more amateur, less polished, more mechanical.
They will add QoL improvements in the future, but hopes of making the game fast and practical are almost zero.
Open up user
Something about how it looks and plays is not entertaining to me. If they ported over the N64 version to Switch I'd rather play that over Horizon. It's smartphone game graphics turn me off or something.
Plus I also played Dragon Quest Builders 2, which has a fuck ton more freedom and shit to do than New Horizon.
Fucking a, having played DQB2, going to this game was fucking painful. The amount of freedom in that game compared to this one, the size of the world, the number of inhabitants, the music, the crafting options. Fuck, I might go back to it
I would also throw in
>Horrible online experience
>Clunky dialogue menus
>One island
I like it but I feel kinda empty after ive designed my whole island etc and have pretty good villagers.
I know what you mean, I have 5 stars, island is super developed but I still can't design areas to my liking because I am still missing so many items. The furniture selection is either very slim or there are WAY too many counter-top items in this game. I'm thinking its both.
Not my thing, too boring and too customizable to give you the original ac feel.
It is a good game if you look at it as a pastime to play 1 hour a day.
I'm on the tenth day and I always feel like going back to the game and continuing to progress little by little. This feeling will probably last for a few months because I play so little a day.
I can see people frustraded after grinding for several hours a day, however. It is a super casual game which is not as good if it is not played as what it is.
Way too much cut content
Not as good as NL or the GC AC
Honestly it's just boring as fuck, I don't know what I was expecting
Overall it's pretty good. Not as comfy as ACGN but miles better than City Folk or New Leaf. Crafting system is a real fucking chore though.
Game is more fun when you cheat. Inviting randos to your island to touch trade is fun. The targeting system for making paths/digging holes/terraforming/etc is absolute cancer. There should be a way to kick out undesired villagers that isn't dependent on amiibo use. The eventual DLC will probably be worth it since the game is still pretty barebones rn.
Pretty much this sums it up, it is still AC though. If you liked all the previous ones you'll still get a little kick from this one
post dodo codes
Online is really good unless you are a Yas Forums roach spamming join every dodo code they see.
>Online is really good
You are the first and hopefully only person I hear say this.
>Joining loading screens for all parties
>Host can pretty much do absolutely nothing unless he allows only for best friends, and even still cant do much
>Having to fight through constant dialogue with the airport bird guys just to get online
It is not very good
It's exactly what it says it is. An Animal Crossing game. Rather you like it or not depends if you like other Animal Crossings or not. If you didn't enjoy past games then this isn't going to magically make you love it.
>babbys first online game
Its pretty great. some small gripes like why cant they make crafting faster in many aspects, dialogue problems that existed in each ac game, some npcs being MIA. Otherwise, im thoroughly enjoying the game
I enjoyed past games, but not this one. It's more of a god sim with a poorly implemented crafting mechanic and terrible durability. The villagers are as shallow as ever, the hourly music sucks, the online sucks, and the events suck.
Also a shitload of cut content.
Some user posted this song saying most people hate it, and he likes it. I'm with you user, this song is great.
youtu.be
I like it
I've honestly always thought Indian people were disgusting.
What they did to local multiplayer should've nuked the review score by 20 points alone.
So what did they do other than you being a beat around the bush type of faggot in your descriptions?
only real gripe is that you have to constantly craft tools, I don't mind the crafting in and of itself but it should really only be for cosmetic stuff
For me, it's Comrade K.K.
Why describe the obvious when you know damn well? It's one of the biggest, if not the reason why the user score on metacritic is 5.2.
I don't play local multiplayer so I have no idea.
i got 2 questions
1. which villagers have shit houses, do i get rid of the all of the pre campsite ones?
2. i really want some of my villagers shit how do i get it, ellie got a kitchen set i'd kill her for if i could
I really like it but im not sure what to do at this point, been playing on daily base and got unlocked pretty much everything. Right now the only thing that is left for me is to collect recipes and adding some new stuff to my house/island, I would love to make a new safe and create a new island with a different theme to it but of course we cant do that. Also I hate how villagers repeat the same 2 lines over and over again, and the multiplayer is a pain, do I really have to answer the millions of question in order to use a dodo code?
Overall I like it but there are obvious problems
I really like it but something about it just feels so empty compared to the older games..I miss New Leaf..I miss the old music
youtu.be
yes
buy it from someone
buy it from who?
My honest opinion is you have posted this thread with the same text over 5 times now.
The UI navigation has got to be faster. I don't own a single other switch game so I don't know if it's just a hardware thing but holy shit. The delay to even use the rotating menu fucking KILLS me now. At the moment when I want efficiency the most to terraform the island I must say I'm starting to sigh too often for every miss-dug hole or my villager throwing up dirt where I didn't want him to.
Wuh-Oh!
Drumsticks!
dibs on skye
It's like rune factory for people who don't like to explore or fight things and only want to play dress up and talk to NPCs
the game itself is pretty fun but so much of the good times is interrupted or delayed with tedious bullshit. I've been playing ever day since release and I still groan every time my tools break. I've got all the material in the world, it's just a pain to have to stop in the middle of what i'm doing to go craft another tool.
