And if it were, fat is much more elastic than bone, if it had been the case the indentation would have returned to it's normal shape relatively soon after I was done with the headphones, like how socks cause marks on your legs that go away not long after taking them off.

the techniques they used to bind the skull were a lot more agressive than wearing something that weighs 30grams on top of your head. You can deform bones but it's fairly difficult to do to an adult. Especially with the skull.
