the 1% trickle down effect is real. the playerbase are a bunch of fucking idiots incapable of making critical decisions on their own, so everyone defaults to FOTM for reasons they really can't understand other than "MUH FAVORITE METHOD STREAMER DID IT". this makes the game suffer because blizzard, contrary to popular belief, does actively cater to these extremely high tier and limited amount of players. this is why covenants will be dogshit; there'll be an extremely valuable covenant for raiding, the rest will be subpar and you'll be seen as a liability if you don't default to the best raiding choice. covenants will be fuck awful.
