Complain about combat

>complain about combat
>elitist assholes reply with git gud
>research and find out the game teaches you block a few hours into the game
>but doesn't go out of its way to tell you
>trying to fight before getting block is suicide
How many players did they lose with the excellent design choice?

at least use a different OP image

If you didn't go out your way not to follow the plot thread there'd been no problem.
And it's not "a few hours", more like one full hour.

You learn to block in the prologue as part of the main quest, how were you able to miss it? And if you're talking about perfect block, the game explicitly tells you to go learn how to fight from Bernard before anything.

This game made me feel like I was wasting my time

And yet here you are.

thankfully not playing kcd though

They teach you to block straight away, the first 2 hours of the game is basically tutorial. If you ran off during the middle of it nd skipped the clearly marked combat training thats your problem.

All games are wastes of time

>but doesn't go out of its way to tell you
exactly why i loved this game. there's minimal hand holding. and the combat was good because you start out as a brash kid who doesn't know anything and can get his ass kicked until you actually learn stuff. its only a shame you go from pleb and combat god in such a short period of time.

Who the fuck is always complaining about combat in open world games?
It always smells fishy that perfectly fine games like Kingdom Come and Witcher 3 for example are bombarded by accusations that they have "shit" combat.
Meanwhile i never see this claim in TES or Fallout threads despite TES and Fallout having incredible simplistic and tedious combat.
In comparisson:
To block in Skyrim you have only one button to click.
In Kingdom Come you can literally block from different angles, counter enemy attacks and use combos.

Its the difefrence between day and night

>rightwing game is unpolished buggy mess
heh

The combat is fun until master strike shits all over it. Way too easy to perform, low risk high reward option and pretty much the only way to consistently kill higher level enemies can master strike you.

Terrible implementation of the mechanic that ruined most fights for me, but its the studios first game so hopefully they did realize the problems with it.

Nah, KCD is great and you suck donkey dick :)

Every game you mentioned in this post has shit combat.

The main problem is that the combat is only designed for duels. The enemies are good at parrying, even peasants know fucking master strikes and feints. It's meant to be this intense back and forth where you're locked onto your opponent.

Except most of the time you don't fight in duels, you fight several opponents at once. And since you're most likely wearing armor to be able to withstand as much punishment as possible, they will be faster than you and they will gangbang you and drain your stamina in a matter of seconds. Unfortnately, using a bow is the optimal way to play this game.

Oh boy tell us 3 games with "good" combat

This is true. I love the combat in duels but enemies ganging up on you is a clusterfuck. The targeting alone makes it almost unplayable.

Assassin's creed
Bamhams
God of War (original trilogy)

Because combat is not the point of those games.
Their combat does its job, nothing more nothing less.
If you want good combat play a game that's specifically designed around combat

also agree on the fighting a bunch of people at once being shitty but this really only happened a handful of times to me. i learned really quick that's better to thin out a bandit a camp first with a bow or intentionally draw people out so you can sneak attack them and then go toe to tow with the last guy. as far as heavy armor i always switched to mace for those fuckers and bashed the fuck out of them.

Same problem with sekiro.
>great 1v1 combat system
>dude let's have the player fight groups of enemies all the time lmao

>KC:D combat is a shit! SHIT!
>Meanwhile, New Vegas the greatest shit ever and there's a thread on the front page with people praising the combat in outer_fucking_worlds of all things

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this board? Are we playing the same games? Do you niggers seriously think the slow zombie walk across your crosshairs is great combat? What is happening?

Yeah mace is the way to go for those group encounters I was using the top tier longsword for my first play through and its killer but yeah the mace is best when you've got multiple attackers. Also level up alchemy/herbalist early so you can beef up your stamina with potions before fighting once you have the auto potion skill it's easy.

Simple combat means a lot more people will enjoy it, more complicated doesn't always mean better.
Lowest common whatever and that shit.

learn to kite and fight running battles, don't stand around like a retard and get surrounded

The fundamental problem of KC:D's combat system is that it is different from what people are used to. That is all there is to it. It's not exactly like every other combat system in every other first person melee-oriented game.
Despite their pretension, most people here are purely casual gamers, who only play the same franchises and major AAA titles, and any form of unfamiliarity is automatically assumed to be the game being "bad". New Vegas's combat was shit, but it was incredibly familiar and intuitive. You don't have to learn shit. You don't have to get used to anything. You can pick and play.
Most people here have the patience and adpatability of an ADHD child, probably because most are, in fact, ADHD children. When something does not work immediately, then it's the game's fault, and it is shit.

The combat is designed for duels, but that doesn't excuse every enemy being a master swordsman who can feint and counter all your attacks without a warning. This just turns the combat into a waiting game because it's safer to just counter parry your oponent

I'm far from defending TW3's combat (not to mention the previous games, which were a lot worse than TW3 in this respect), but to pretend the combat in TW3 is somehow more boring than Skyrim's combat is kinda silly.

Really love playing this game but I tried to finish the main story yesterday and it was so fucking boring, seriously. I quit at that part when you sneak into Talmberg.

that's every game

I liked the main story because I genuinely enjoyed most of the characters and just kinda wanted to see more of them, despite the main plot being so low-key.
I did make the mistake of clearing nearly all of the side-content before jumping into the later-game main story in earnest though, and this left me in really annoying situation where there is little for me to do.
Right now I'm waiting for the Trebuchet to be finished, and I literally have to just wait the damn thing out, because the only other remaining questline I have open now is the damn final Woman's Lot quest, which is really something I want to do at the very end of the story.

I fucking love the combat in this game, if your bad at it you get wrecked, like in real life

just win clinches nigga

Can someone tell me what the questing is like in this game? Is it "not-Witcherâ„¢" where the quests basically solve themselves or does the player actually need to use their brains to solve them and are there multiple ways to approach a problem?

All of you anons are fucking complaining over and over, there are no more original games, the soul is gone bloooooo bloo too many niggers too many strong independent woman, too many looks/not enough underage girls to rape, then you have the most original and creative game in years and it's still not good enough. Christ.

the game teaches you to block immediately in the sword training yard you fucking imbecile

People whinging about the combat in Kingdom Come Deliverance is essentially the same as them complaining that they are a fucking drooling retard gorilla nigger IQ imbecile stupid ass motherfucker cunt who is an idiot and is bad at videogames

The latter - often in ways that aren't even signposted to the player. For example, in quests that offer you a range of options to retrieve an item from someone (get an alternative, do some task for them to convince them, beat them up etc) it's often a viable alternative just to break into their house and take it.

Filtered

The game won't hold your hand all the way to the goal, if that's what you're asking. You actually need a brain and eyes to read the text and the world map.

This.
I'm constantly amazed at how many people see no issue with doing so.

Could you do something like set their barn on fire so they go out and try to extinguish it while you sneak into their house?

This, once you unlock the master parry or whatever it's called, the game just turns into a waiting game for that green shield icon to appear and then you instantly kill the other guy with a mace.

Not usually, but that's because you don't have unlimited interaction with the environment (you can't just go around burning down everything you see). You can draw their attention in other ways, though - it's not relevant to any quests that I know of, but there are a few shops where the easiest method of robbing them comes from "obviously" breaking in to the store, drawing the attention of the guard, and then bolting around the back and sneaking in that way.

No but there are actual consequences if you are seen- seen, not even caught. You're a literal nobody trying to climb the ladder in medieval Bohemia, there's no magic bullshit to help you out. Give it a try user, it's a little masterpiece.

This game is so good, I'm gonna play it right now

1 all the non boss enemy you can easily, easily run past
2 the 1 Vs many game play in sekiro is straight up excellent

>Only complaint is combat when talking about a specific RPG

KC:D is casual as fuck.

>user is a smelly retard
heh

>KC:D is casual as fuck.
I don't think you have the faintest clue what that word means.

Cope, your game isn't as remarkable or difficult as you want others to think.

Skyrim came out 10 years ago, user

>complain about combat
>elitist assholes reply with git gud
>turns out i really just had to git gud and not be an inattentive brainlet

I actually never stated anything about difficulty, and as for being "remarkable", that is a purely subjective judgement, depending on what you consider worth noting personally.

And you should probably visit a doctor and tell them about your massive self-esteem issues, because they are only going to get worse in the future, and only make your life more miserable.

Shouldn' t you be dilating right now?

it's not difficult but it's easily the best RPG of the decade, get fucked

Now you know what your parents feell ike.

Either learn the game or learn to lose

Other than the siege mission clipping out some I had no technical issues with the game. It's also gorgeous especially in comparison to it's budget.

I pirated the game, the only people who lost are the alt right third worlders who made it lol

Is it possible to go stealth/thief only? I love everything about the game so far except for the combat

I pirated it too man, that's what happens in a world without demos

I did a lot of nighttime stabbings but than was more for fun. Learning master strikes via the main quest helps also. Also clinching then right mouse button makes things easy. Poison is very unrated as well, especially with arrows.
