Just finsihed it can we discuss? I'm sad it's over bros. What were your favourite/least favourite cases? Are the other games worth playing even without the same writer?
My favourite was Rise from the ashes followed by Bridge to the Turnabout and the last case in Justice for All can't remember the name
>Are the other games worth playing even without the same writer? Yeah, all of them are worth playing, quality may vary though. Don't forget to play Edgeworth's games too.
Tyler Myers
Edgeworth was my favourite so probably going to check those out regardless, playing as him briefly was great. I'm just worried the characters won't feel right without the same writer
Ethan Myers
Favorite case from the trilogy is The Stolen Turnabout from Trials and Tribulations, and least favorite is The Lost Turnabout from Justice For All
Hunter Jones
Stolen turnabout was pretty good. Was cool to have it start with a theft, and yeah lost turnabout was a pretty shitty tutorial
Evan Turner
Yep, that tutorial was bad, good thing the tutorials from there on are better.
The villain from the Stolen Turnabout is one of my favorites from the whole series.
Landon Bennett
I unironically like Turnabout Big Top.
Ryan Gutierrez
I don't get why people hate. I thought all the cases in 2 were really good aside from the tutorial, none of them were weak
Andrew Brown
Within the trilogy >Favorite Recipe for Turnabout, the plan was absolutely entertaining how the villain got away with it >Least Turnabout Sisters, the climax is easily the worst rigging I have ever seen
Outside the Trilogy >Favorite Turnabout Magic Show >Least Technically cheating but the third case of DGS1
Asher Garcia
>Turnabout Sisters, the climax is easily the worst rigging I have ever seen what do you mean?
Luke Taylor
Wrong reply whoops
Adam White
>Are the other games worth playing even without the same writer?
Edgeworth 2 is literally the best game in the series so yes.
Nicholas Lopez
>Dangan Rompa is getting a new game before AA7
GODDAMN CAPCOM
Jordan Parker
>What do I mean
You got cucked out of actually defeating White and was given a freebie with Mia, the build was great but having it end it on that was really shitty
Elijah Jenkins
oh yeah, I hated when that happened. It's annoying when phoenix gives up, the other thing that pissed me off is when you had to show von karma the crucial evidence to progress the game when it was obvious he'd just kick the shit out of you and take it
Sebastian Fisher
I miss the more serious cases. Like Rise from the Ashes almost feels like something that could've happened in real life. There's not much suspension of disbelief and the murder is treated very seriously. The stakes just don't feel as high anymore with the new writing. I've warmed up to it. The investigation segment is ass but the characters are good enough and the conclusion is decent. It's definitely not the worst case anymore.
Cameron Cooper
recipe for the turnabout was my least favourite non tutorial case desu
Jace Anderson
Old man was annoying but learning how Tigre planned everything was really enjoyable for me personally
David Parker
The outside trilogy games have this reacurring problem where the final cases are usually god tier until you face the actual villain. They tend to fall off after you pretty much figured the plot twists out
Still enjoyable but noticeable
Jacob Evans
fug really? i pretty much dont hear about it
Joshua Gonzalez
There’s rarely much AA threads these days but Edgeworth 2 and to an extent Spirit Of Justice are worth going through the others
I personally really like seeing Phoenix’s progress in the future trilogy
I felt really fucking bad for misty fey, fuck godot why didn't he just burn the fucking letter before pearl read it?
Bentley Ramirez
is the anime any good
Ayden Reyes
Bump
Carson Bailey
Season 1 is iffy but Season 2 is great especially the original train case
Lucas Cook
I’m on the 3rd case of the last game now. The closer I get to finishing it the greater the dread gets. I hope there’s a 7th game getting announced soon.
Parker Torres
The second Edgeworth game is my 3rd favorite behind 3 and 1
Levi Williams
I really liked it, like the other user said the second season is especially kino
Carter Moore
thanks I'll watch it, I already like the little details like phoenix's home and mia wearing a watch
Wyatt Taylor
why isn't it getting a western release?
Ian White
Is it really complicated to try and play Edgeworth 2? On an old computer I once had a DS Emulator that let me play the first investigations and only shit it was so good. It seems downright lunacy that the 2nd was never ported to the west in any capacity. Even the newer games can be bought on phones nowadays.
Adam Morris
You just patch the game or find a translated ROM. You can play it on a DS just as any other, don't have to use an emulator. I'd send the patched ROM to you but no idea how. The game's called "Prosecutor's Path" in English so just google it.
Josiah Nguyen
Rise From the Ashes is definitely one of the best, I wish other cases used the touchscreen as effectively as this one did. Nothing in Apollo Justice compared to it. Also, the last case in AA2 was Farewell my Turnabout.
I keep hearing that AA Investigations 2 is one of the best titles in the franchise. Do I have to play AAI 1 for it to make any sense? Follow up to that: any idea where I can score an english rom?
I didnt use the touch screen I didn't want to smudge my switch
Asher Adams
I was seriously hoping nobody would EVER praise Rise from the Ashes. It's so bad at every level.
What did you like about it?!
Aiden Myers
You might as well play the first game, it’s pretty nice, AAI2 is just better
Leo Rogers
Yes, mostly because of characters like Kay and Lang I also personally think AAI1 had better twists compared to 2 with some exceptions
James King
OP here I don't really know how to respond to that, I loved everything about it
Owen Wilson
I guess I like the tone, mostly. has kind of summed up what I mean by that. I admit that some of the investigation is tedious work, but every moment in court is gold to me. Particularly the ending, when Phoenix and Edgeworth team up to take down Damon Gant. Many of the AA games have Phoenix, or whichever protagonist philosophize over what it means to defend someone, and their place in court with the prosecution. The realization they always come to is that if both the defense and prosecution fight for their side as best they can, that the truth will always come to light. I feel as though the climax of Rise from the Ashes really sells this concept best. I also love that it's not just solving a current murder, but a cold case as well. I think that same reason is why I like a lot of the final cases of each game, because they tend to have the most layers.
AAI1 is not exactly required to understand AAI2 but it does provide background on Lang and Kay who otherwise would seem to appear out of nowhere. Also the first case of AAI2 happens as a consequence of Edgeworth dismantling a smuggling ring in AAI1, but again that's just backstory. I'd still say AAI1 is worth a playthrough as it's still your standard AA fare. For AAI2 you actually need a Japanese rom and the Prosecutor's Path patch. You can easily find it. For the rom you can just go on the /emugen/ wiki, it should have everything you need.
Eli Russell
The characters are charming but: >the fucking Regina music >the reasonings are all bullshit I mean, you see a falling bust with a cape, and you mistake it for Max?
Jace Nguyen
Strange answer, but my favorite is Turnabout Beginnings. I love the tense feeling when you know that something is going to end badly, just not how. Least favorite is Lost Turnabout, it's boring and the amnesia gimmick is only entertaining for a few minutes. Post-trilogy games haven't lived up to the legendary legacy of the first three, but they're good in their own right. I suggest taking a break before starting Apollo Justice, since a lot of people try to go straight into that and burn themselves out on the series as a result.
It was dark as fuck though, and none of them saw it falling. I think there is more absurd explanations in the series
Xavier Moore
Traducing all the dialogs is very expensive because it's one of the longest game of the serie.
Julian Evans
AAI is worth playing so do it.
Daniel Ward
I love every case in the trilogy (minus 2-1 I guess, 1-1 has good charm for a tutorial) personally.
Outside the trilogy... I don't really like any game after Apollo Justice, though I haven't played DGS. I find them enjoyable to play through and if Yamazaki and co. have AA7 in store for the future, I'd be okay with it... but I just don't find the writing (specially the character writing) to be anywhere near Takumi. I hate the main arc of SoJ a lot and think it has the worst final case ever. Utter garbage.
Tyler Jackson
It’s really simple. Just download a DS emulator(I used Desume or whatever it’s called) and google “Edgeworth Investigations 2 English patched” and you should see a pre-patched ROM of it in one of the first results. I’m willing to help you find it if you can’t, it’s such a great game.
Chase Rodriguez
Here is the pre-patched Edgeworth 2 game in case you guys are looking for it.
I want to chloroform and do things to franziska von karma would I make a good defendant?
Jordan Fisher
I want her to whip me until there’s only bloody bits of flesh where my body used to be. Would I make a good victim?
Daniel Foster
apparently the dub is better? its the only one on my torrent site
Henry Barnes
My favorite case was the peaches
Parker Torres
I watched the dub, I can’t vouch for the sub. Future Trunks voices Phoenix, which is sorta neat. Also if you wanna laugh your ass off look up the blooper reel on YouTube after finishing it. It’s golden. But yeah the dub sounded fine to me
Ryan Watson
>I'm sad it's over bros. An understandable reaction. I played the three games over 3 years (with a lot of self-discipline) and I felt like it was a real journey.
The important part to remember is that it's not over. Like said, you are not yet. Edgy's games are some of the best in the series. Path of the Prosecutor might be one of the finest puzzle games I've ever played.
