regular balloons appear on a regular basis every 10 minutes from each other.
egg balloons are random

You must be doing it wrong
Remember that egg balloons don't override normal balloons, you can just ignore them and normal balloons should still spawn at :X4 and :X9

there are 4-5 rocks on each island. you should be getting at least 10 nugs each time, often more than that.

It's probably the goofiest grind in the game because you can get screwed and have it take a few trips. Make sure you're digging two holes behind you when you strike the rocks so you can mash A without getting pushed back.

I only have 2 or 3 recipes and they're from balloons. No villager has ran up to me and given me any recipes.
