I enjoyed 3 because the weapons and combat was fun and the DLC was really good. The worldbuilding is inconsistent and the story makes almost no sense. Non of the choices you make matter either. It is bare minimum plot, but the game has some interesting characters and locations

Any game can be HUGE. What you do with that size is what really makes a game good. EYE Divine Cybermancy throws some HUGE maps on you but they're all as empty as they come. The average Far Cry game is HUGE map-wise but has nothing to do in it. Gothic however is set in some tight little quasi-city and is still filled with lore, exploration and variety.

If Bethesda made something as good as 3, in addition to the improved crafting, gunplay, and other QOL changes, while cutting out the settlement bullshit, it would have been the best Fallout game

Honestly, the OWB hate baffles me. When I played it for the first time I went in blind with no real set expectations of what it was going to be like. To make a long story short I enjoyed it a lot. Because I don't watch Rick and Morty or browse reddit, it didn't seem like either to me. They seemed like wacky, eccentric, batshit scientists who were a means to an ends, to point you in a direction.

It was fun, I liked it, have enjoyed it on replays.
