It's weird too because watching the Kanto Pokemon league you get the feeling the writers were initially going for that. Ash losing due to Charizard disobeying him was a good character moment that would have fit in well if it were a sports shounen from the beginning.

Despite some people disliking the fact Takuto used legendary pokemon he's not the only trainer to use them. Brandon, Nolan (although the Articuno wasn't his which sucked), N (not really a contestant), that guy with the Heatran, and a nurse Joy with the Latias (Lol wut it should've been another random proctor).

Yeah, Kanto was supposed to be a self cotained series that ended with the movie.

Darkrai movie was the beggining of a kind of trilogy of movies.
They aren't that good but i though the idea was neat.
Is right though, Temple of the sea is one of the best pokemon movies.

Anyone remember when Cartoon Network was airing DiaPer and they kept playing the same episode with the pokemon bounty hunter over and over again because the new episodes weren't released? I dropped the show because they kept playing that same episode and it was also subsequently when I stopped playing Pokemon period.
