Parrying was never the problem. The problem was always parry option selects. Option selects are the problem and should never exist in any game.
Only play with AI these days.
You can lump that in with balancing. It's too liberal in general. Don't think parrying should be limited but it shouldn't be as strong as it is. Maybe put in a fatigue system where parrying too much incurs chip damage and eventually a guard break effect. Also scale down the damage output immediately following one.
Strive looking like such trash feels so bad. ArcSys was supposed to be our saviors.

This I wouldn't be opposed to but no to the rest. Maybe also make it so you can't parry in air. Basically makes jump-ins mostly free. Parrying is fine otherwise.

I think Strive will turn out decent if they keep listening. Restoring gatling and taking out auto air tech would already go a long way to helping. They've already said IB is getting adjusted as well. RC drift looks like a pretty fun mechanic as well.
Plus with Bamco publishing in EU I won't have to wait half a year to play.
SF4 ain't my favourite by a stretch, but it sure was a lot of fun to watch. Game had variety

not that I'm against this project but couldn't you use parsec in the mean time? Like Steam +R is one of the very very very few FGs I will not play online because it's that bad but parsec is pretty servicable in the meantime

Yes. "One positional error" doesnt happen. Ring out vulnerability is matchup knowledge, and your opponent has to work to actively to get you there.
I did have a lot of fun with 2 but haven't really played is seriously since. God tier porn, though.

imo its better solution than Turtling/being pushed into into a invisible wall. As long as there are not broken turbo smash>-into->ring out moves in the game. Remember that is a 3d box game, so can always sidestep a few times to get away from the edge
