They could have existed side by side
They could have existed side by side
Pretty sure those two objects where existing side by side when they took that photo.
The Wii U as a system is far superior to the switch. The switch is the most barebones console they’ve released since the GBA
Sometimes being a contrarian doesn't make you look smart user. It just makes you look stupid.
>WiiU could have had the amazing potential so many DS games had making use of the two screens.
>ZombiU is the only launch title that actually did.
This could have been a console full of DS/3DS game sequels that are more graphically better but the hardware wasn't good enough and apparently a nightmare to program for.
The branding was hot garbage too. It was a waste of potential.
it's practically the same console. the Switch library is just WiiU ports.
the hardware was better than the shitch toy tablet. nintendo was just too lazy to take full advantage of the gamepad, and third parties didn't bother trying because it didn't sell well.
fucking NintendoLand was the only game that fully took advantage of the tablet controller. really great memories playing 5-player with my family.
most devs don't have the imagination to design around a gimmick and lack financial incentive to do so. most players don't have the patience or appetite for anything different.
I’m not talking about games, I’m talking about features of the system. The switch is absolutely barebones
Cause it doesn't have what? Mii-verse? the child/pedo social network?
This. Nintendo is laughing at us while everyone buys the Switch which has even less features and QoL than the Wii U did.
switch actually looks like a modern console
If I didn't know what Wii U is I would think that's one of those toy tablets you give to a kid
Wii U was PowerPc garbage user. That tablet was basically a gimmick for most games even for the ones that prioritized it. Switch is barebones, but the Wii u isn't "far superior" ya fucking contrarian.
I used my WiiU to set up my Switch because Nintendo cucked and decided to remove all non-game related features from the Switch
>nintendies will say this is a good thing
Wait why didn't you just use the nintendo account you had for Wii U? I'm confused what you had to set up?
If I didn't know what a switch was I'd assume it was a peripheral for tablets.
They should have gotten rid of the 3DS instead
Wii U was based, and Switch is just a Wii U with less features except mobile but competent marketing. I'm not even mad about the Wii Us library being ported over, I really enjoyed most of these games 7 years ago.
What are these must have features everyone is talking about?!
Let's see.
Actual console exclusives not full of ports.
Full backwards compatibility with Wii games.
Online that supported an actual community and message board.
An online store that allowed you to play games from multiple systems.
Free online.
>game system plays games
>no, why does it do what it says on the box!!!!!!
Honestly yes, I would like more but I don't need more. Know the difference.
Miiverse and dual screens.
>Miiverse
Are you a literal child?
>Dual screens
Oh, cool. The map, options menu, or nothing. Good thing all the games used it!
>Full backwards compatibility with Wii games.
I don't own a Switch but having thinking about getting one, what do you mean by this? Aren't Wii games disc based? I thought the Switch had cartridges.
They were talking about the Wii U you fucking retard.
He's talking about the WiiU. Instead of forcing you to buy ports of all the Wii games, the WiiU was backwards compatible.
And an actual fucking virtual console (instead of the switch's barebones netflix of games bullshit). Wii U becomes god tier once you hack it and inject other games to the virtual console emulators.
What kind of 3rd party charger is safe to use on redbox switch? Anything with 5v 1.5A?
keep seething zoomie
This.
>all homebrew Wii emulators for a bunch of consoles
>can inject N64 games into VC
>mods like widescreen and 60 fps SM64 even work
>all of the GameCube library played natively with Nintendont and any controller including the gamepad
>access to all Wii games and some can be modified to use the gamepad or other controllers
It's pretty based
Thank you
>user mentions Wii
>I'm supposed to know he means Wii U
Excuse me for not knowing the intricacies of Nintendo's overpriced Fischer Price toys you fat fucking faggot.
says the zoomie defending the switch
Yeah nintendoland was a really good showcase what it can do but then
this pretty much. I can't think any third party games that used the second screen as anything but a "You can play it off the TV" screen.
Yeah the design was way too bulky and looked cheap. It was part of the shitty marketing and design.
>Aren't Wii games disc based? I thought the Switch had cartridges.
You're still retarded though.
Correct. However, that time has passed, and the old console was defeated by the new console that he himself created.
>Full backwards compatibility with Wii games.
What the fuck else would he mean except the Wii U? You think the Wii would have "full backwards compatibility" with itself? Christ, nigger
>are you a literal child
Wii U was great because you could easily contact sexy children on Miiverse and the console conveniently had a video chat app built in! Nintendo was targeting the largely untapped pedo market.
Do you not own a computer or something?
Is the Switch the first console to be more successful after removing features?
>Wii U becomes god tier once you hack it and inject other games to the virtual console emulators.
What's stopping people from doing this with the Switch?
What makes you think Nintendo should care that they aren't better facilitating hacking for you?
WiiU looks so fucking ugly and bulky compared to the Switch. I'm glad I skipped that garbage
The Switch doesn't have a built-in N64 emulator, nor does it share Gamecube/Wii hardware to run those games natively. The best it can do is Gamecube games through Dolphin on Linux.
>What's stopping people from doing this with the Switch?
Nothing, though it is easier on the Wii U and N64 emulation works better, and GCN/Wii games work natively.
>What makes you think Nintendo should care that they aren't better facilitating hacking for you?
Loaded question, no one said anything to that effect in the first place.
Insecurity is strong in this one
The Miiverse was the only vidya related social network worth caring about and shutting it down was Nintendo's greatest sin yet.
>Criticize thing
>Y-youre just insecure!!!
Lol I don't have to be insecure. It sold like trash because it is trash
>M-muh n64 emulator!
If the WiiU can play N64, do it on there. Why would I buy a Switch so I can play N64 games when there are a dozen other ways to do it?
>Loaded question, no one said anything to that effect in the first place.
Going back through the replay chain to , clearly the point of this conversation to bitch about Nintendo removing features.
Nintendo doesn't get enough shit for Wii U. I'd be pissed if I bought one.
My post: () isn't bitching about Nintendo making it harder/less worth the effort to hack their systems. I just happen to think that the features you get through hacking the Wii U happen to make it god tier. Whether you hack the Wii U or not, the fact that it has the virtual console is still something it has above the Switch.
I honestly miss using the Wii U controller.
Having a second screen in your hand for things like map and menus was dope.
>If the WiiU can play N64, do it on there.
Okay.
>Why would I buy a Switch so I can play N64 games when there are a dozen other ways to do it?
Why would I buy a Switch to play Wii U ports when I already have another way to do it?
I wonder why this is almost never a thing for PC games. I can remember Supreme Commander doing it
>Why would I buy a Switch to play Wii U ports when I already have another way to do it?
Because you didn't fall for the WiiU meme and waiting until Nintendo figured out how to make a more appealing version
Nah, I correctly weighed my options and realized the Wii U could play more games on it with little effort and less of a cost instead of falling for the switch meme. Bought mine for $90.
ok but why are you making a new account rather than using the account you already have on your wii u?
It would be nice if Nintendo would release an updated Gamepad one day
>I would like more but i dont need more
>Settles for just barebones
Why do you lie to yourself and sell yourself short?
I have both a Wii U and a Switch. I love both of them. The Switch is clearly better though.
Not really. Games cost too much and take too much time anymore to fully support two systems of this level at once. If both were going at the same time you'd make both have huge software droughts.
>claim that it's because hackers could use the internet browser to exploit and pirate the console
>the console gets hacked anyway
Once hacked you can play the whole Gamecube library as well
>People can break into my house anyway so I'm not going to bother locking the door.
>house analogy
You're right user. I love being able to take my video games to any room in the hou- Oh.
