It unironically does.

I can't help it if both popular games and my personality are shit.

Liking popular things doesn't make you one either.

It goes "lots of people like thing, it becomes popular," not the other way around dingus.

>the only reason you don’t like Justin Bieber is because you think it makes you interesting

But liking popular things is a sign you have shit taste

It's sad how many people think any mindset opposed to this one is a direct subversion and not completely separate.

This. I stopped drinking water once libs started carrying their own bottles pf water because “muh health”.

>everyone is entitled to their opinion
>unless you have this opinion
whoever made this image needs to be gassed

liking popular things makes you an interesting person

A large part of this community is just butthurt nerds complaining that nobody likes the unpopular shit that they like.

How about liking things because you like them and not because other people do or don't

I really dislike the use of cute or innocent video game characters to say something mean or gay like this post

Fun fact: Resetera considers themselves to be a conservative website now.

I can't imagine the type of person that hates anything that has some form of popularity

Still find it funny that this board acts like that but vehemently defends Smash

Attached: 1453946902154.jpg (200x211, 5.68K)

Skyrim is a good game.

No but when I find the next tortanic, people will celebrate my name.

what's your favorite idea

Trying to change the arguement doesn't make me wrong to criticize a popular thing

Liking popular thing doesn't make someone interesting, either.

>Here lies Anonymous
>He shatpost for our sins

>Using Kirby to propagate your retarded opinions
Die

I'd like for you to kill yourself

So how do we solve the TORtanicposting menace?

Not hating them doesn't make me interesting either.

smash is good party game but i rather play ums in starcraft1

>community
unironically kill yourself

>vehemently defends Smash
When the FUCK have you ever seen anybody on Yas Forums defend smash?
Any time somebody brings up smash outside of the designed threads, it’s to complain about how much that person is sick of seeing smash on this board.

Attached: 1583167771609.png (500x439, 45.42K)

I'm sure you would.

Neither does liking them because everyone else does

Does Kirby really say this?

>not drinking a crummy pail of water everyday

Based and dehydratedpilled

I play Fortnite, why do you give a fuck about what other people think you should play.

Based

I don't hate things for people to become interested in me. I hate things BECAUSE I ACTUALLY DO YOU PINK BALLSUCKER

>nobody likes the unpopular shit that they like.
Then why won't you faggots stop trying to take it over then?

Fucksake, nobody said that's the only alternative. Do this many of you really not know how to be anything but contrarian? You're supposed to be able to form ideas autonomously.

>Any time somebody brings up smash outside of the designed threads
and how many of these threads exist again? majority

Most popular things are popular because of some measure of quality, even if it's just polish on top of mediocrity. Truly awful, 3/10 or less games generally are not popular; AAA games that are that bad flop or at best have their whales/fanboys while everybody else moves past them.

Personally, most of my favorite games aren't very popular, but I wish they were at least somewhat more popular so I could have more people to talk about them/more people to play with when it comes to multiplayer.

Attached: 1546990456534.jpg (500x809, 102.49K)

But it is objective fact that popular things are popular because they cater to the common denominator and naturally will be unable to provide enough value for people who are more enthusiastic about the subject in question. Yes, this will make you less interesting person in the eyes of the masses but not everyone is willing to sacrifice quality for inclusion.

Don't use jigglypuff to shitpost assole

>you're not allowed to dislike popular thing

What about hating interesting people? Does it make me a popular thing?

Nobfy said they disliked the thing your butthurt about just because everyone likes it either. But you me and OP are all just assuming aren't we?

Being part of a group that makes a habit of contradicting the "masses" is just a part of another, similarly vacuous herd. It's like how "counter-culture" is a culture. Only difference is you're an asshole.

Liking them less so.

The argument fails to understand why someone is contrarian though, and in its irony just tells a lot about the poster.
But I reply to bait threads just because this place is beyond salvation.

But why? If you like a game, obviously you get enjoyment from playing it, so you play it. For what reason would you go around proclaiming you hate games? What does it give you?

Correct.
But being an interesting person usually makes you hate popular things.

Yes. He allegedly raped the artist girl once. But #metoo failed and he never got put in the court.

>posts a screenshot of japan time right when a character reveal happened ans pretends that’s just the average day on Yas Forums
kek fuck off, go into the catalogue right now and count how many smash threads there are. it certainly isn’t “the majority”

Redpilled

I know, right? Like, shut up if you dislike something. Just don't say anything.

If you like it, then you may speak.

We don't discuss games to "be interesting".

What THING? There is no topic for whatever THING people either like or dislike! You really need to get over this fetish for feeling enlightened because your tastes are special. You can like popular or unpopular things for reasons unrelated to the popularity. Liking anything based on its popularity, whether it's for or against, is a brainless act.

Better to be right than interesting

Attached: 1561488443742.jpg (634x845, 105.11K)

I think we all hate things so we could potentially sway people to our opinions but we all realize it's a futile task since none of it ends up as constructive criticism that devs ever get to see, and that is implying they even care to improve their games. Shit only gets shittier and people with a tendency toward outrage will outrage even sooner and harder while more people tend to latch onto the popular product simpy because they want to want to be included.

But liking unpopular things does and the two are mutually exclusive

I didn't ask for niggers to be popular, but I sure as fuck won't be quiet about it

Attached: sheeeeit.png (530x564, 86.28K)

Hating popular things is normal, because taste is subjective, and you shouldn't be forced to like something just because the majority does. Being smug about it doesn't change the fact that shielding products from criticism is a major sign of faggotry.

>Hating popular things doesn't make you an interesting person
Usually my taste is contrarian and people have divulged society into an A or B circumstance of rules for quicker analysis of information, so you either like it or hate it.

Typically the main stream garbage thats talked about is just that, so yeah its usually shit thats discussed (from my point of view) and thus when I state my position on said shit people take

Interest

in me.

Yes, hating popular things does make you an interesting person.

Liking kirby DOES make you an autist, though.

I hate you. Are you interested?

Do the faggots on the board REALLY think you MUST be either the biggest normie on earth or only play Norwegian puzzle-art games? You do realize you can like some popular thing and dislike some unpopular things and vice versa, right? Or is shitposting about Vidya on an Indonesian soap-sculpting board your only discernible personality trait?

nobody cares, take a shower

Explain, weirdo. That's what it is.

If I think a game is shit, it's because I thought it was shit. Not because I want to come off as interesting.

Attached: 1562053356215.png (607x714, 580.71K)

everyone always boils shit down to the extremes during their first few years on Yas Forums
it's why it never stops
