I'll admit there is none but some composers are as good as him, Yousuke Yasui, Yuzo Koshiro, Toshiharu Yamanishi, Ryo Unemoto, Masafumi Takada.

if Tim Follin got to compose for final fantasy instead of shovelware like silver surfer and pictionary he would be considered the greatest western game composer to ever live. I unironically believe this

Me with a shareware music maker soft from the 90s

Based

Pretentious garbo

Nobody could have done a job better than Uematsu, maybe Koshiro considering how consistent he was from the late 80s to the early 90s.

I guess I just meant on similarly high-profile games, I certainly wouldn't have replaced uematsu

Me. Watch this

Dododo do do do do dodododo funny duunnnnn dunnnnnnnn do do dee do fun do deeeeeeeee

the falcom band.

Falcom's music is incredibly generic and forgettable.

Yoko Shimomura, but I’ll admit I’m fucking biased because I grew up with KH before playing FF.

based

If my post ends in 7, Nobuo Uematsu will die this month

Koji Kondo

Ys 1-2 alone are some of the most memorable soundtracks of all time, not even counting other Falcom series like Sorcerian or Brandish.

Wonder why he didn't get another chance with Ciconia.

Can't believe this wasn't the first post.

Keiichi Okabe is become as a god too. And Gareth Coker for Ori.

Soken's pretty great now that he's doing his own thing and not just playing at being Uematsu's apprentice.
FF14 in general has a pretty fantastic soundtrack. It's amazing that all the other recent Square games have basically no memorable tracks, even FF15 shit the bed in that regard except for a few great overworld battle themes. FF7R in particular is pretty fucked, it's the exact same situation as the X remaster where they just took the original tracks and added a ton of unnecessary shit on top.

I'm keeping far away from FF7 remake spoilers and news but what soundtrack does it have? Orchestral remixes?

>Orchestral remixes
no digital remake trash of the original songs. all full remake album is on youtube.

This. The guy is the John Williams of VG

Marty has Halo 1 and 2, Nobuo has at least 4 iconic final fantasy ost's

Nothing is sacred with modern videogames, shouldn't have expect Squeenix to do a good job with the remake soundtrack since even Capcom fucked it up with RE2-3make

Shinji Amaterasu

How can one man be so wrong

Is there anything about the remake they didn't fuck up?
>cluttered with pointless sidequests because they burnt up the budget on pre-rendered anime fight scenes
>cloud's entire story arc is wasted on passing reveals that have no impact
>awful fanfiction expansion that's 10x worse than had they just done a 1:1 retread with some fluff/padding
>fucked up textures left and right, everything looks like flat, bland mush
>can't get Red XIII as a playable character despite the fact that he's clearly programmed in
>combat is great for a few hours but gets old once you realize the basic attacks are just repetitive spam used to build meter for your actual damage dealers, so combat's even slower than the original because there's more time between commands
>choices that don't mean anything now that there's no date to work towards (and the date's fucked anyway because you can't NOT pick Aerith)
>voice acting ranges from alright to completely mediocre
>OST is boring as fuck and pays absolutely no respect to the original
I would've rather they just made a new game altogether instead of dumping this turd on the world. At least with a new game you can approach it with an open mind, there's not innate comparisons to an original that it has to live up to.
