I want some opinions from people who already played the full game on Apple Arcade.
How good was it? Was it better than Half-Genie Hero? Was the story alright? Did some transformations feel pointless after unlocking another one?

Haven't finished it yet but it's pretty fun, risky can be a bit of a damage sponge though.
I borrowed my fathers iPad for it. Thank fuck you can hook a controller up to an iPad because the touchscreen controls are unplayable.

The story was fine (for Shantae standards) up until the end.

The only transformation I'd say was useless/tacked on was Sea Frog, which is just Gastro Drill but in water. Newt and Tortoise are essentially better versions of Monkey and Elephant, while Octo is a slightly nerfed Risky's Cannon. Fusion Dances aren't perfect but I appreciate that they can cause different reactions depending on the enemy. See pic.
Overall, it's better than HGH, but not as good as SatPC.

Just last week, Apple Arcade got the full game. Consoles and PC have to wait until May. WayForward claims it wasn't intentional, but seeing as how Apple is the very first name in the end credits saying how they produced it, this was absolutely intentional.
What happens at the end that makes the story get meh?

Through most of the game, Risky tells Shantae that she doesn't have any interest in her missing friends and just wants the city's secret which is the fact that it's a sunken airship. In the endgame, it turns out Risky was the mayor of Arena Town and conspired with the Empress Siren to make off with the half genies to restore her power.

I don't want to say it's necessarily WayForward's fault. If you got offered who knows how much to produce a game of your popular franchise at the cost of having it exclusive to Apple for two months, wouldn't you take it? They were clearly offered enough money to justify the Trigger opening, get Shantae a Pop figure, multiple animated cutscenes, but that's all I can list from what I know of the game. Trying to avoid too many spoilers until I can play it in May

As far as I'm concerned, her good games were all Nintendo exclusives until Half-Genie Hero came along and went multi-plat, then subsequently made Pirate's Curse and Risky's Revenge release on other platforms too. The only one still only on a Nintendo system is the first Shantae

That's different, when a game is a timed PS4 exclusive, it isn't nearly the same as a mobile game market claiming a game as timed exclusive. But like I said, I was only guessing it could've been an NDA thing.
I think its more likely that Apple, being the producer and all, wanted the game to first get made and optimized for their platforms, and then WayForward has to do all the technical and graphical work after Apple's is done to make it playable on all the other consoles.
For all we know, it releasing early on Apple Arcade could've been a side effect of COVID-19 and them trying to keep people busy indoors and whatnot

t's the least metroidvania, but all are pretty solid plateformers, not very hard, but not too easy either ( pirate curse have to be done with 2 hearts only for a certain achievement)

Risky Boots is a literal garbage villain. Shantae needs story lines that aren't directly leading to a boss fight with Risky. Pirate's Curse was great because it was an entirely new main villain and new threat and his whole fight was great. Half-Genie Hero ignored Pirate's Curse existed and Risky's back to being the villain. And now again in Seven Sirens
