Said nobody but shitposters.

That’s a very pretty hallway

Everyone quotes the damn laughing scene acting like it wasn’t meant to sound awkward and forced in the context of the scene

Shut the fuck up Onsokumaru.

At this point I see more faggots spamming
>ACKSHUALLY IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE AWKWARD
Like that makes the story less shitty

Nice corridor you got there.

Still have a soft spot for FFX but it was the origin of the hallway simulator. Also Tidus and Yuna are horribly miscast in the English dub. Tidus sounds too old and nasally, Yuna always sounds breathless and intones weirdly.

Wow, look a this open ended area that you can explore :)

It's a cringe scene no matter if it's on purpose or not.

I frankly thought the "I want to scream real loud AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" was much more cringy and awkward

yes, it is

>he prayed when he left Besaid

lmao

>DUDE HALLWAY SIMULATOR LMAO

>Why isn't he laughing?

that's a really boring field

I think that's the only open world in the entire game.

Genuinely my least favorite FF game.

Wow a big empty field

That really makes up for every other location in the game being a hallway

>showing the tutorial walkway
dude, final fantasy is known for their incredible worldmaps since its first entry. Don't dismiss the game based on the tutorial.

>DUDE THE ENGLISH VOICE ACTORS ARE CRINGE LMAO

That's just walking from one end to another. Just that the entrance and exit are normal sized but the corridors themselves can fit whales.

Dude just dodge a 100 lightnings in a row isn't this fun?

if ffx is a hallway simulator then so is dark souls. at least Final Fantasy games have the excuse of making up for it with the art design.

Quick, everyone, name a single part of your favorite FF game that is actually nonlinear.
And this doesnt mean skipping chocobo billy to grind and kill zolom, that's still just midgar to the cave.

I prefer Johnny Test Tidus

everything's a corridor as long as you stretch your definition enough.

final fantasy 5, you have to go into the 4 meteors to find your way to the portal to follow galuf. I think the first meteor is set, and the last one is set too. but, you can choose which meteor you want to do second or third.

FFX’s hallways aren’t even that bad, there’s enough going on in the game to where you don’t really feel like all you’re doing is walking in a straight line. It’s not FFXIII, where the entire game has you holding forward until you’re a good way into the game and the world opens up a little bit

>FFX
>Allowed to be a hallway simulator because everyone has nostalgia for it
>FFXIII
>Isn't allowed to be

Everytime.

FFXII. The part where you can enter the Salika Woods fairly early.
And if you can kill the King Bomb at that point you can even enter Nabradia much much earlier than you should be.

Ff vi wor

too expensive to make now, easier to make linear 2hr game on rails that cost less millions but bought by millions of retards instead.

did you know some people still defend the remaster?
final fantasy fans are weird or maybe just really casual

>you know it is not a good FF game because you have to wait a long time before you unlock the aircraft which allows you to travel freely between the few areas of interests

I like my corridors just fine, thanks

Like 80% of FFXII

>that's the only open world in the entire game
it's not an open world game but calling it a hallway simulator is retarded. there are different pathways everywhere and dozens of forks along each path. It's more "open" than most games. What did you expect? to be able to cross every terrain? you can't design a game that way and still have it be a placeholder for different artists to work on. Open world games are monotonous because that's literally all it can be, you can't hire thousands of artists to work on a huge 3d world.
You probably really hate 2d platformers if you think ffx doesn't have enough breathing room.
I unironically liked 13.

It's more than the hallways.
FFX has a large party of characters each of which can be somewhat customized relatively early on in the game.
FFXIII's crystarium is kind of a joke in and of itself. It's weird.

I like ff13 too, but if you've played it recently, it really is a straight line. not a bad thing on paper if I'm being honest, but in practice it does feel a little bland. JRPGs often have minigames, sidequests and other distractions for a reason. if they had took ff13 and simply gave it a few more diversions like 13-2 and LR, it would've been an instant classic.

that's why everyone loves ff7 the most, it has the most minigames.

Soul, still remember playing the demo every day as a kid until I finally got it and never wanted to get into Sin because I didn't want the game to end

yeah why are we pretending 2/3 of ffx story doesn't have any weight and cinematic is uninteresting where in ffxiii all your hear is not l‘cie, fal'cie, enemy of cocoon

>if they had took ff13 and simply gave it a few more diversions like 13-2 and LR, it would've been an instant classic.
Plot was still trash

The REAL reason the game is shit:
>to truly complete the game, you have to grind for ~200 hours in the monster arena
Fuck you, I will never do that to myself again

>Plot was still trash
I think the issue is more that a lot of the important shit is in the codex instead of explaining you the shit through game itself.

they stopped using these shitty china/vietnam studios after they fucked up too many games.

FFX was the beginning of a hallway simulator, but it's almost open world compared to FFXIII. You could backtrack, there were proper side paths, there were cities and towns, plenty of distractions etc.

I always see complaints about this and the chocobo race and possibly some other things.

I 100% this game a while ago. It wasn't autistically difficult at all, it just took a bit of dedication. You can easily finish any challenge in an hour or two. The only truly grating element is the Blitzball tourney.

it wasn't great. however it did at least have a story, which is more than you can say for most final fantasy games. even the ones with better stories don't even try to have character development, and outright forget most of the characters exist. for example, ff6 and 7, once a character joins, their role in the story is over, and all they'll get is some optional lines, or maybe chime in during a cutscene which everyone ignores, since due to game logic, all dialogue is interchangable, depending on who's in your party.

for me, it's Final Fantasy 1
Boat Puzzle is the best FF minigame

it's the most forgettable FF, aside from a couple songs

I remember playing the demo before my family owned any ps2 games and the graphics blew me away. Early ps2 was a great time to be alive - every ps2 game was great for maybe 3 or 4 years. I remember the demos were on a blue disc, and the other games on the disc were a Crash Bandicoot and a Stuntman game. Besaid was a real wholesome choice for the demo.

>1 entrance
>1 exit
>1 secret exit you can only find after several minigames
just stop

Characters, story, areas and final boss battle are shit. SHIT.

>the most forgettable FF
I haven't played it in over a decade I still remember every temple. the game is hardly forgettable. the story and romance was pretty good also. and one of the most memorable list of characters. are you honestly going to say Rikku or Auron are less memorable than Vincent, Yuffie or Cid?

Take me back bros

It's still impressive how good Square made those higher polygon faces look, and how much the remaster fucked that up

second last boss battle was great and the "final boss" battle clearly wasn't made to be a boss battle.

>they stopped using these shitty china/vietnam studios after they fucked up too many games.
>stopped
>bioshock: the collection

It is good, but it looses points for being too short and linear.
