This game is considered one of the all time greats

And there's nothing you can do about it.

Looks similar to Morrowind

TW BTFO'd.

Took me almost an hour to kill the first legendary difficulty dragon at the watchtower using two handed.

Why is Skyrim UI so fucking bad, even mods can't fix that mess

casuls gonna casul

>one of the greatest games of all time
>the gameplay is terrible
why is this so common?

just think
in 2011 we were blown away that they actually made combat better than oblivion
now we still prefer oblivion because it's not a bleak cold shitscape

Only by people who value quantity over quality. People (Westerners) like shitty games where you can do a lot of different things no matter the quality of the individual thing.

Meanwhile in Morrowind you get zero feedback if something's hitting or not besides a sound.

What is it about Skyrim that makes people think of it so highly despite how bad it is?

t. 500 hour JRPG where you spend half the time grinding random encounters which consist of you one shotting four slimes between two loading screens

Morrowind makes up for it by making literally everything more interesting. Skyrim is a theme park and they didn't improve the combat enough to be warranted.

Would I, a brainlet shooter fan that values responsive combat over all else, play skyrim over morrowind? Probably. Do I still respect Morrowind as a game more than Skyrim? Definitely.

Now post Morrowind gameplay

>level 1
>bandit outlaw
>surprised when hes blocking all your attacks

shit bait

Enemies get staggered on every hit and sometimes knocked down. Yeah, the fact that missing doesn't have a visual cue is a mistake looking back, but if your weapon skill is high enough you basically are unstoppable.

Its there for people who want it, at least its focused on what it wants to do and doesn't try to be every genre at once. I don't play that shit but if someone likes it well mongoloids should have be able to have fun too.

morrowind also does something no other game did which is the knockdowns are related to draining stamina or really heavy hits vs no armor
drain stamina in skyrim and the little fuckers can still just spam swings on you, completely pointless

Morrowind had unironically better combay. It might not have been as flashy, but it was a lot more actually functional and tied together with the character progression

Gameplay doesn't matter with an RPG. The best you can do is make it bearable, the majority of focus should be on quests and world design.

because marketing works
if you advertise a piece of shit enough, people will love it, provided it checks some boxes such as graphics or "great" story on par with a mediocre netflix flick

Yes, but you have to add like 30 gigs of porn mods.

>gameplay doesn't matter

>needs mods to make it good

yep

Every RPG has flawed gameplay. It comes with the genre.

>Gameplay doesn't matter with an RPG
I blame The Witcher 3 for memeing zoomies into thinking this

It's related to agility, stamina, and damage (so heavy armor can save you from it sometimes.) Don't enemies in Skyrim also have unlimited magicka?

It's the exact same combat. A little less braindead, but still garbage

please kill yourself

Why the fuck didn't Oblivion or Skyrim have spears? Spears are badass weapons.

see
there might not be feedback, but from mechanical standpoint it is objectively better

Because it is no matter how much Yas Forums likes to cry about "muh hyperlink NPCs" in Morrowind. Also
>light attack
>wonder why he isn't breaking the enemy's defense
Retard

it's almost as if you never even played the game

For me, it's the Halberd.

There is literally no alternatives. Maybe a Dragon's Dogma 2, but that don't gonna happen.

Spears are introduced in the Solstheim DLC

At least post an example of what makes me wrong.

some excuse about console ram limitations and not being able to have animations for it
same reason they were so reluctant to put diagonal walk/run animations in until skyrim

My absolute n'wah.

someone post that morrowind clip of the the guy getting owned by a mudcrab because his spear wont hit it

I'm not agreeing with him but clearly nobody gives a fuck about how FFVIIRE plays and are only interested in the spoilers/plot being ruined.

unlimited in that is always regenerates yes
you can drain it but it returns in seconds

Because games are a pass time, it's just ment for recreation and a way to relax from the stress in the real life.
Steamrolling through enemies and being an actual good feels good in comparison to the real worl, it's dumb fun. Micro managing resources and reading walls of dialogue is fucking BORING and if you like games like that shit you're just an autist

Attached: sq7v12ich.jpg.png (640x479, 311.46K)

because you play wrpgs... i dont think anyone can defend the combat in witcher 3 and the shit enemies but its still le best game balbalbalba
its kinda dumb honestly... and not just rpgs either same with rdr2 it has utter shit gameplay and feels terrible when you play it but best game evvvrrrrr balbalbalba....

in oblivion if you had Drain Stamina on your weapon you could stack it on enemies so much that theyd go to like -1000 and never stand back up

No one else makes toddshit. Don't know why nobody has tried to compete with him.

Attached: Todd.png (600x610, 434.08K)

Because during that time, it was great. Let's compare it with its competitors, shall we?
>Skyward Sword
Waggle shit, shit combat, shit world
>Dark Souls
Great combat, great world to explore, the only legit competitor to Skyrim
>Batman Arkham City
Meh combat, meh world
>Dragon Age 2
Meh combat, meh world
Yas Forums really needs to stop being a contrarion faggot. There are way too many zoomers here who didn't get to experience Skyrim when it was first released.

Don't forget Dragon's Dogma.
Capcom already has.

Daily reminder that the "hurr Morrowind is better" crowd are simply too stupid for Daggerfall

Daggerfall is way too buggy, generic, and stale. No one except retards get filtered by Daggerfall, it just isn't a very interesting game anymore. The character creator is better, and that's about it.

you mean the reikling spears? those only get used as arrows.

Daily reminder that the "hurr Daggerfall is better" crowd are simply too stupid for Arena.

The main difference is Skyrim doesn't look like complete shit and the players attacks are actually landing.

Dragon Dogma is 2012 game though so it doesn't count.

Its modders paradise, that´s why!
It´s a fantastic template for making your own medieval fantasy adventure on!

They can't

>Skyrim doesn't look like complete shit
Skyrim aged just as badly and quickly as Morrowind did graphically.

>Gameplay doesn't matter with an RPG
untrue, but we are talking about bethesda games anyway.

The "plays video games" crowd are simply too stupid to level up in real life.

Unmodded Skyrim is okay. Modded skyrim is good.
