I really enjoyed 1.6 for stuff like super hero mods and all the skins you could put in/make pretty easily. Source was good for skins as well but was saddened that there was no super hero mod,
zombie mode was pretty chill for both of the games. Was disappointed that CSGO didn't allow for custom skins and models but the game itself was alright too.

I think Source is the most fun but GO is good if you can look past all the skin shit.

I wish we could still play 1.6 but it is completely dead. There's only empty server full of bots, South American servers with 300 ping or just sketchy Lithuanian servers that will probably give your PC AIDS since GoldSrc is chalk full of exploits.

can someone here with an actual brain summarise the differences in GAMEPLAY between the CS iterations? older editions having more freedom in custom sprays/models/maps doesn't make the game objectively better or worse. the average joe just wants to move, shoot and perhaps strategise.

90% of the servers are TTT/Jailbreak, and don't pretend otherwise.
Balance is nowhere near CS levels. Gameplay is even more dumbed down than CS because less mechanics and you can't even jump.

CSGO circa 2012 is the peak

A game being better competitively doesn't make it a better game in every aspect, it makes it a better competitive game. I had a lot more fun in Source than I'll ever have in GO, though that's also down to age.

I like CSS because how quickly you can boot up the game and start shooting people. I fucking hate matchmaking bullshit like you wouldn't believe. I don't care about winning/losing matches, I just want to fucking kill people.
