Explain how it "plays like ass".
Because to me the controls match the mechanics almost perfectly. Only change I would make is on-the-fly weapon switching, but that is not worth a whole remake.
Don't fucking lie, OP. You made this thread to stir up shit and you know it. I played it only a few months ago on the Xbone and it's just as good as it ever was.
>mfw seeing people saying that want RE4 remade with Remake 2/3 gameplay and a more serious story
>mfw no face
are they just insecure about the best game in their favourite series not taking itself too seriously or so
ething?
I'm not the guy you're thinking of. RE4 is my favorite game of the series, if not simply my favorite game. It doesn't change the fact that the gameplay is dated.
Replayed it yesterday and it's still a 10/10
I got to the castle and some of the fights like garrador twins are unbearable with the controls. Not being able to see behind sucks, and you can't even quick turn because they hear that shit. It might be bearable with a controller but the pc version is absolute ass.
>Garrador twins
Just do what everybody else does and use the rocket launcher you get just before. Those guys are probably the hardest thing in the game with the exception of that stupid fucking Ashley puzzle
The tank controls combined with the ots perspective really show their inadequacy in boss fights. A lot of running, slowly turning around to see if the boss is in agro, then running again. I just played the gigante fight and it was just kind of boring.
50 hours lol. Seek help!
I probably have over 200 total across all versions over the years
>Zoomie can't into a zoomie game
Legit confused, besides the obvious shitting up on perfectly fine games which is very gen-z
I'm joking. Have 19 on my first blind playthrough
>awful mouse controls, better off not using it at all so you have to use a KEYBOARD to AIM
>tank controls feel awful, you can't even look behind you, and it's a huge disadvantage in most battles, especially with twin garradors or twin gigantes, verdugo, the chief, novistadors (not really a boss)... pretty much everything in the game
>obviously graphics and audio quality are dated
>slowly turning
What?
I thought re4 had quick turn?
It will be a sad day if they remake RE4.
The original with RE4HD is perfect already
>this game is in dire need of a remake
no its not zoomer
the gameplay is what makes the game great and different from all other 3rd pshooter
stfu
the gameplay isnt dated, ypu just havent aged enough
>that stupid fucking Ashley puzzle
retard
I played RE4 on gamecube when it first came out retard. Just because I'm pointing out the obvious fact that the gameplay is awful doesn't mean I'm a "zoomie". You might as well just not play on kb/m because it's so fucking ass. The wii version is still the best to play on, and when an emulator plays better than the official port there's a fucking problem.
It basically eliminates any tactical possibilities for half of the fight, compared to Remake 2 or the old games where you could track enemy patterns from behind you.
Aren't they in talks about remaking it?
do 180 turn you mra retard. do you even know the ontrols?
I sure hope they are
until then I'm gonna play TEW2
It goes without saying that a game made for the Gamecube would be best with a controller.
Not being able to look behind you is the point. There would be zero tension otherwise. You have to position yourself correctly. Quick turn + run is all you need.
The graphics and audio are fine.
The fuck is this nigga on?
Still slow as fuck when you have to do it constantly.
>first the gameplay is "dated"
>now it's "awful"
Gee I wonder if this is a bait thread.
To this day I'm surprised there's people who uses a typewriter and a glorified pointer when there's a far better option on Wii.
stfu zoomie. you dont know the shit it entails if you change tank controls
>It goes without saying that a game made for the Gamecube would be best with a controller.
sure, but that doesn't excuse the fact that kb/m is pretty much unplayable
>Not being able to look behind you is the point. There would be zero tension otherwise. You have to position yourself correctly. Quick turn + run is all you need
Most of these boss fights would be much better if you could look behind. Tension becomes frustration. Take a look at Dead Space games or RE remakes, those games don't need to rely on bad controls to have tense boss fights.
>The graphics and audio are fine.
for a 2005 gamecube game, maybe? just break a vase in a castle and tell me the audio is fine lol.
god youre a fucking retard
maybe you just ont know how to play the game.
theres nothing wrong with it, but maybe thats why you dont enjoy the game
that's what I'm saying, as of now it's better to play on an emulator than the official pc port. the game is gutted on pc/kbm.
>PC version is RE4 as a whole
you are a fucking retard, the game was porpusely designed to have tunnel vision so the player feels in less control of the situation.
do you not have self awarness of where the enemy is depite being on a blind spot?
learn voice queues retard. most boss fights offer a qte if the enemy is attacking from behind
The camera is shit.
>I gouged your eyes, and crippled your limbs. Try beating the game now!
>position yourself correctly
You can't do that when you don't have any information to go on. It becomes more shallow than tense because of that.
Needs a remaster, not a remake. Learn the difference faggot.
are you too poor to buy a gamepad or are you just too stupid to realize you need one?
>DETRÁS DE TI, IMBÉCIL!
What did he mean by this? Seriously?!
Oooo boy here we go
I think the point he's making is that the difficulty of RE4 is mainly balanced around its intentional limitations, namely the narrow field of view and tank controls. Were you to change the controls and FOV to match later titles like 6 and the later Remakes, then a lot of the challenge goes away. Like how adding non-tank controls in REmake 1 makes avoiding zombie attacks trivial.
The game would then have to be further modified to compensate for that, and at that point why not just make a new game that's not a remake?
Like it or not, RE4 is designed around the controls it has.
Bet it's both
I have a gamepad. I realize I need it. But I don't like the fact that I need it. If I want to play on a kb/m, I shouldn't be forced to use a controller.
HD project is as good as it gets in terms of a remaster. Main issues still persist. It needs a remake.
Bosses don't say that, and normal ganados aren't even a threat because of how weak they are. Honestly they're more than a nuisance than anything, and sometimes they even help you because you become invincible when you kick them. They're basically free crowd control. Ganados are the most common enemies in the game, and they should be made at least a slight threat, just like zombies in RE2make.
Yes, but if they managed to make it work with RE2 and RE3, surely RE4 won't be that hard, right?
>Like how adding non-tank controls in REmake 1 makes avoiding zombie attacks trivial.
And it only proves how much of a shiter and a faggot he is since you can dodge zombies with ease in RE 1 and 2.
you are projecting
I've not played those games aside from the initial RE2 demo or either of the originals, but from what I've read and heard they modified both games fairly significantly to accommodate the new control style. Enemies being tougher to kill due to manual aiming, that sort of thing.
Again, I imagine that the same could be done for 4 given enough effort, but the question remains: why not just make a new title in the series with that gameplay?
>projecting
Reminding you; anonymous site therefore irrelevant the very idea of proyecting and the implications of it.
I mean I don't know, people say they turned zombies into bullet sponges but from my experience they take about the same amount of bullets to kill. In the original RE2, which I replayed yesterday, zombies take at least 4 bullets to go down most of the time. In RE4, all handguns except for Red9 need a lot of shots too if you don't melee/knife them.
>he's pointing out the objective flaws of tank controls, so he must suck at RE and RE2!
I've been replaying RE2, recently killed the alligator and haven't died once. For your point to be valid these games have to be hard first.
you cant be serious retard
Again, I've not played them so if that's wrong, my bad. I can certainly see the more general point that changing from auto aim (due to a fixed camera not allowing for precision) with random critical shots, to being able to manually target vital body parts with more ease would require some other added challenge to compensate.
I am literally playing through RE4 at the moment; previously only played the Wii version which, while fun and still my preferred way to play (why I bought Move for PS3 with RE5 Gold), I can now see why fans complain about pointer aiming making things too easy.
Manually aiming is slightly more difficult and getting it right when you can't easily reposition like you can in later titles does make things more tense. I can definitely imagine how making movement and shooting easier would make it into a different kind of game.
>if I want to play on a kb/m, I shouldn't be forced to use a controller
I played through the entire series before the release of REmake 3 and I finished RE4 on a mouse and keyboard, literally get good.
That being said, I do think tank controls suck ass and the game could benefit from a remake. Before the defense force arives, no, a remake can't make it worse because the original is still available in every platform, this isn't Baldur's Gate, fuck off.
It doesnt need one, they need to remake CV on the other hand so its good cause Im tired of remakes for already fine games especially if they are gonna cut a bunch of shit out for no reason
why change something that isnt broken?
how is it not a serious story? Northeast Spain/Southwest France has always been associated with the Illuminati.
>cant even look behind you
you literally got an instant 180 button retard, having to turn around to see behind you is literally every third person shooter how can you be so fucking dumb, also the sound design is great and still holds up
I'm on salazar's boss fight right now on kb/m, it's not that it's hard it's just frustrating, which is the main problem with these games. I'm sure most RE fans who aren't purists agree.
If you want to play with keyboard and mouse can I recommend emulating the Wii version. It's got a couple of weird quirks if you play it with mouse/keyboard but overall I think it's the best way to play on PC if you don't have a controller.
But yeah the game was deliberately designed around the controller so if you're trying it on mouse/keyboard you're probably not going to have a very good time.
can you imagine how exciting it would if you could strafe to take down a zombie that picked up ashley and you wont lose the game because areas are not connected through loading screens
you remake fuckIng retards sure thought this through
Use the submachine gun. By now you should have it nearly fully upgraded. Took me a single clip to get him into his second form
>That being said, I do think tank controls suck ass and the game could benefit from a remake.
>Before the defense force arives, no, a remake can't make it worse because the original is still available in every platform
I don't want to come off as a defense force, but if a remake wouldn't make the original worse, by that same logic how would the original benefit from a remake?
I would say RE4 is defined as much by its gameplay as anything else: if you removed or changed that a lot (which you would have to do), then what would be the appeal? The story? Wouldn't it be better to make a new story rather than retread the same points over again for nostalgia?
>im suck on the eaiest boss
that explains why youre cying like a little bitch
oh sorry, I meant can't even look behind without slowing yourself down, then having to turn 180 again if you want to go back while also alerting enemies of your presence (especially fucking garradors) because it's the same thing as running apparently.
played the wii version, the aiming is fine but can be random sometimes. Definitely the best version of the game, but it sucks that you can't use mods like hd project with it. Also you still have to deal with multiple functions on the same bindings and messed up QTEs, like the versions.
Never mind , I mistook him for the village chief. Just use the rifle or the magnum, he couldn't even hit me
ive beaten this gme on pro with touchpad nd keyboard and i have a broken wtist.
its not that hard
buy a rocket launcher if you cant aim noob
I'm not stuck, I just went to sleep lol
Hey, RE4 question. I'm still early on in the village and I've got to the part with the blue emblems. I'm playing the HD rerelease, now I don't remember from back when but did it always show you where blue emblems were? That seems a little cheap.
Based
>>slowly turning around
>What are quick 180 turns
>What is turning the camera and aiming for instant 45º turns
>be RE """"""fan"""""""
>dislike how the basic controls work in half of the series
Do you actually realize what you're saying here?
I'm going to say "yes" but I could be wrong
Every RE game should get a remake, particularly RE 6, played that a few days ago and it looks and plays like outdated shit.
