Has the performance been improved yet? I really want to play but I only have 8GB of RAM
Has the performance been improved yet? I really want to play but I only have 8GB of RAM
It’s been improved a lot. Who knows if it’s enough for a ramlet though
it's the CPU not the RAM that's the problem here
No, It's definitely a ram issue, for this guy at least. The game uses like 8.2gb of ram on startup, i tried on 8gb and it was a stuttering mess, ate all my ram and started using my HDD right out the gate. My 16gb kit came in a couple of days ago and the game's been buttery smooth ever since, 0 stutters.
They should really change the recommended RAM to 12gb at least.
>12gb
>RAM
laptops
This ive got 16gb ram and a 5700xt but lag hard when theres more than like 250 soldiers in a battle because my cpu cant take it
i have 16 and its not enough. unplayable single player, multiplayer skirmish uses nearly all
Wrong, I don't have the memory leak issue, it never crossed 2 GB. CPU is always maxed though
I have 16 and it's enough.
>only 8gb of ram
That's not really enough for anything any more.
You should really get another block to at least have 16gb.
I have 8GB and its working for me.
i wouldn't expect performance to be comprehensively addressed until the the last 3 months of ea
>SP is fun
>Let's try MP
>Multiplayer client freezes on white screen at startup then crashes every time
>Tried all known fixes
Don't tell me you're in windows 7 or some shit.
No, fully updated Windows 10. New drivers, verified game files, removed Battleeye, etc.
I've tried to get into it but i just can't. I still enjoy warband more.
You either haven't tried hard enough or you're addicted to mods.
I'm loving every minute of it, especially my 150 horses ploughing into enemy ranks, ragdolling them helplessly while they screech.
I don't understand how to complete the main quest, I'm stuck on Unify the empire and stop conspiracy.
Its really good comparatively, but i would honestly wait until bannerlord actually works before giving it another attempt.
You're not doing anything wrong, it's just not implemented past the conspiracy part yet. It's supposed to be a rather long RP campaign similar to Viking Conquest for Warband, which also acts as a hand-holding instruction for new players on how to create their own kingdom. They likely won't enable more of the main quest until they have smoothed out enough bugs and imbalances to be satisfied with the stability. Trying to introduce new story content during the initial bug fixing period would be dire as fuck.
Also once we get the sandbox mode you'll just be dropped in as a nobody just like in Warband, no main quest or established family.
Shame, I find captain mode pretty fun.
I started being a merc for the mongols, will eventually leave and join the celts as a lord. Tips for being a merc?
Circumcised ignoramous.
based virgin
murder all the caravans. you should have a fast enough army as mongols. Each and every one of those caravans is your payday. just sit near a neutral city and youl have more money than you can spend.
played with 8 GB of ram with shitty i3, stuttering mess. add another 4GB of ram, and it run better.
played it with 8gb RAM when I first bought it, got around 40 FPS on average, 20 in multiplayer
upgraded to 16gb in a week and now I get around 50 in multiplayer and 60 in single
>
>play custom siege
>ram caps at 7.7 GB
>exit siege
>at main menu
>ram still at 7.7 GB
alrightyyyy
Yeah, seems like that and raiding are the best I can do. Maybe take on mercenary groups hired by the enemy or a lord who just got shit on and is still rebuilding his forces and that's about it.
I still can't get it to start up. Black screen and doesn't respond. Their forums for support are a joke btw
rofl
>Not having 16GB RAM
>every major PC release
>ramlets cry that the game doesn't run well
>they still never upgrade
It's stupid because it's not my specs or drivers. Maybe it's what I get for pirating it.
>really want to play
>know its better to wait until every thing is cleaned up and the mod support is rolling
>REAAAAAAALLY want to play
It's good
I do. It uses all of it after 30 mins of play.
This game has confirmed memory leaking issues, and they are addressing it through two patches so far, but it is still an issue.
Never had any issues not related to me throwing the game onto my HDD instead of SDD
>wants to play master race games
>doesn't have a master race machine to do it
it's 2020 and you don't have 32gb yet?
>tfw you get cucked by windows and have half your RAM held hostage by the OS version
T-thanks...
>ordered a new CPU and 16gb DDR4 RAM to replace my paltry i5 650 and 10gb so i can play this
>won't be here for over a week because of the virus
I have 16gb and game runs fine. It's not ram that's your problem, it's the rest of your shitheap toaster
I have 8GB of ram too and was unable to play until last nights memory leak patch. They say this is the first out of a series of patches addressing the problem, but it made a huge difference for me. From absolutely unplayable to playable as long as I restart the game after I have loaded a few scenes.
>Start up bannerlord
>WHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR until I shut it down
this game must take years off your pc's life
I can play it well with my 8gb of RAM on my gaming laptop :) feels good being a gaming laptop chad
literally my entire experience with this game so far. My 1080ti sounds like a fucking jet engine
turn off subsurface scattering
1080ti and i5 6600k here.
Game only stutters/slows in huge battles but holy fuck its loud.
regular msi 1080, never hear anything but CPU fan
shit's cozy
My game isn't even fuckin launching anymore, I've done all the "fixes" and the game won't even play after I hit "play" in the launcher, the bannerlord.exe launches, hangs up after 2 seconds, then closes. no error message, nothing.
I WANTED TO PLAY TODAY AAAAAAAAAA
Your computer must be a piece of shit
>fully updated Windows 10
Found your problem.
No, runs like ass
>go back to warband
>it's absolutely dogshit
Anybody else? You really see the COL improvements when you play vanilla warband again
The problem isn't even the battles anymore. They run just as well as they did on Warband with an equivalent computer at the time as long as you don't put on the highest graphical fidelity.
The real problem is loading the terrain. Every time I talk to someone in a city it takes 5 to 10 seconds to load while in warband it was instantaneous even 10 years ago.
I just bought a new videocard last Thursday, and went with regular postage, and it arrived on Saturday, which really surprised me. It said 2-7 business days, so I fully expected it to take a week, but it came quick like. So hold out hope.
I monitor resource usage and over about 2 hours of gameplay the RAM usage will climb from 8GB to 15GB and then thing start stuttering like crazy, while CPU stays reasonably stable at 50-60%.
I'm running on an i5 6590k, but I see anons claiming it works well on their machine despite having a worse CPU than me.
Would having 10 GB RAM be the problem? Also on Win7 with a GTX 970 but I don't care about having max settings.
im retarded, I meant i5 4690k. But even then I saw people running less than that.
ur rig is low tier af
I feel like the GPU is more limiting than the CPU.
I'm on 12gb - was on 8gb till last year and it never made any impact. 8gb GPU is far more important.
