Wow. Just fucking wow. I'm actually clapping my hands right now, you know what, I'm fucking impressed. I'm really fucking impressed. After the sandbird, I thought, you know what, there is no way Nintendo will top their retarded and horrible game design such as this but holy shit, they actually did it! Oh man, They achieved the impossible and made the biggest fucking cancer-heap ever. I'm LAUGHING, THIS IS SO FUCKING FUNNY. And everytime.I fucking die the game mocks me and says Too bad! Like it's some sick fucking joke by Miyamoto.

Too Bad!

honk

The sand bird isn't that bad, it just has a 'gotcha' moment when it flips sideways that will kill you once or twice. Chucksters suck balls but at least you can sorta control how far they throw you and it's obvious to figure out that the direction depends on where they are when you talk to them.

Now stuff like the pachinko and the leaf over the poisoned river, those are putrid, non-playtested shit.

no lie, playing this game since I was 4 caused me to always crack up at this game, especially how the enemies like the pokeys feel more retarded than usual
this KEK

Mario Sunshine always had a weird feeling it it. Like it wasn't so much of a game than a series of functions. Like Yoshi is really just a puzzle piece instead of a power up. Everything having to do with Yoshis is to get them from one point to another without falling in water.

This game clearly needed 1-2 more years of development
But the Gamecube wasnt selling well and nintendo needed their manline Mario game system seller out quickly

Soon to be a sneedster!

Congrats, you got a kek out of me.
it's true though, Super Mario Sunshine is the worst 3D Mario. It has more soul than 3D Land and World but less.... good design

Git gud, ya little bitch.

Everything to do with yoshi was straight garbage. Especially around the hub. Having to wait for the gondolas to drift back towards the island and hop from one to the next was so tiring. Timing puzzles arent fun when theyre slow.

I never understood why people complained about sandbird. Its not like it happens so fast you cant react to it.
Pachinko and the river youre spot on. I dont know why or how those levels ended up like that.

>falling into a black hole, mario becomes stretched and torn to atoms as he screams in agony with the last of his fading strength. he knows that during his last moments, he will never be discovered again, all traces of his existence erased in mere milliseconds
>TOO BAD!

mad cuz bad

I liked the lava in Corona Mountain since it's just recolored water so Mario actually sinks in it unlike every other game where he jumps out with his butt on fire.

Sunshine PTSD thread?

Think the remaster will fix those issues assuming it's real?

Yes, Mario Sunshine was crusty as all hell and needed a lot more dev time than what it got
But fuck me doing the main stars and story is a treat, it shows that Nintendo is perfectly capable of experimenting with Mario's setting when they want to

they wont, but they should remove all the blue coins and replace them with more stars, maybe even another level or two
And please fix the godawful physics so is less PTSD inducing

I would say the only time they failed to experiment with the setting in a 3D Mario were 3D Land and World aside from a few single-level instances. Though Sunshine was certainly cool in how it tried to create a cohesive setting even at the cost of variety.

I wouldn't expect all blue coins to be removed, but I'd be fine if they took out half of them so that they only accounted for 12 stars instead of 24 and made those 12 into new missions. And they put a map indicator for collected/remaining blue coins, it was maddening having something that requires a guide for completion in a fucking Mario game.

I would add the watermelon one to the list of putrid shines. There is some strategy, but man the colision physics can really punish you for no reason.

I find that one just tedious provided you take time to kill the Cataquacks beforehand. Otherwise yeah, it's aggravating.

It's not real, it was a blatant April Fool's prank. The timing was even closer to the day than Flipnote and a 3D Mario collection all on one cart is way too good to be true, like a Nintendo fan's wet dream. Never gonna happen.

Too many people reported on it from different sources to put it on the same level as the Flipnote shit. Sure, it can be a gigantic hoax like Star Fox Grand Prix, but I see it as way more believable than that, it's just a few remasters and a new Paper Mario.

Also
>a 3D Mario collection all on one cart
Nobody said it would happen that way. They could be released individually.

Youre a dumb cuck. Gamecube era nintendo was the best. All their games had a slightly creepy, mysterious feel to them. Like you could fall into the void forever and find bizarre textures or skyboxes or unused platforms/items laying around.

>bad game design
>sandbird
>chuckster
Are you a fucking retard? If you want bad design refer to the gambling machine.

All you literally have to fucking do is face the chuckster the opposite direction you need to go. They retard proofed it the first two throws to teach you also dumb fuck. It's a perfect example of good game design and you being a dumbass.

>lack of polish means game is better
I guess Big Rigs is the best game ever.

>from different sources
>three different sources max
>they just so happen to "leak" the information all at the same time right next to April Fool's
Nah m8. It was a coordinated prank. Game journos report on anything these days. That rumor about Resident Evil 8 and werewolves gained enormous traction despite the source being a random unverified email sent to a literal who fansite.

Anything with a bit of grit around the edges is ideal. Its more realistic for something to have flaws. Just like an average mom with her mature sagging butt in sweat pants doing weekly shopping for her house is sexier than a generic beige mystery meat zoomer girl with a million filters doing cringe poses in tight pants with cringe eyebrows on social media

If you are being serious, the complaint is in the precision of the angle. If you are off by 5 degree, TOO BAD. You have the be really careful when aligning the conversation up. They give you lots of leg room for failure at first, then it gets less forgiving for something that shouldnt be as precise as the first encounters expected of you.

You also get fucked if you're holding the control stick since you can end up under- or overshooting the landing extremely easily and nothing tells you that will happen.

>Nobody said it would happen that way
That's not true. Venturebeat and Eurogamer claim their sources said it was a collection, not individual releases (except for 3D World, which is a separate release).

The point of April's Fools is to reveal the joke. I'm not saying this Mario stuff is real, but I wouldn't link its existence to April's Fools even if it's fake.

True, a hunch of weird shit in sunshine

>the leaf over the poisoned river, those are putrid, non-playtested shit.
They knew exactly what they were doing with the poison river. It's the only secret stage where there is a pipe that takes you out of the level.

is it a game's duty to make you feel good? Can't it humiliate you once in a while? That's part of the fun, experiencing frustrating and then defeating the challenge.

It's also by far the most annoying secret level to reach so I'm convinced they just wanted to have a laugh at the player's expense.

This leaks over to other games like metroid prime, batallion wars, wind waker, and smash melee. Custom robo also has a bizarrely horrifying plot twist in the second half of the game. Imagine sinking into the ocean forever in wand waker. Or that eerily serene park that you start at in adventure mode in melee. Every nintendo made game of the time feels like something is internally wrong and off, like in dk64. If you have a soul and arent an npc you could pick up on this shit right away. I love getting a little drunk with a friend and then finding weird shit in gamecube games with a friend

>people complain about sandbird
>the one that takes a full year to turn sideways
>the one that still lets you use fludd
>the one that doesn't require jumping, you can just walk on a block to prevent falling off
the game features a lot of fucking garbage but sandbird is just a retard filter

honestly, at least a lot of the shit stuff isn't required.
i'm hoping that if the 3D mario rumor is true, they'll fix some stuff, but it'll probably be a regular upscaled port.

>rumors start like 2 days before April Fools
>"I wouldn't link its existence to April's Fools"
:thingken:

Okay, but that doesn't make them better games than ones with infinitely more polish that came afterwards.

Chucksters aren't too terrible, this however and the one water slide level that kills you instantly when you fall off is infuriating however

The fucking eel dentist thing gave me nightmares. That slow descent and the glowing eyes and the sudden opening of the mouth and fast upwards movement. What the fuck were they thinking?

I'm not saying people should be striving for wonkyness, and the SOUL vs SOULLESS shit is retarded
That being said I prefer Sunshine over super polished "sterile" titles like Mario 3D world, the slight "offness" of the game makes it more interesting to play and discover all the little oddities spread through the game. All the different piantas and assorted characters you meet feel a lot more diverse than newer games, and I think no other mario game to this date has a star that references The Shining

Sneed

I'm a chuckster!

It makes them better because they are infinitely more interesting. I see games as experimental toys and like the mystery side of their development. Something can be so overly polished its basic and boring. Mario 3d world is a boring flaming pile of trash that will never change on a playthrough. You slowly walk through a few green red and blue cubes and jump sometimes and then you touch the flag. That goomba a mile away just dances in a cat suit while you pass by. Nintendo died with the wii and beyond

Ok Gamecubebabby.

Gamecube era feels a lot like a continuation of N64's mood in that regard, go back to a lot of N64 games and you find that typical early 3D eeriness born from technological limits and experimentation, feels like Nintendo were still finding their footing on how much serious undertones or casual content they wanted their games to be

>lily pad ride

He's not entirely wrong, sometimes Nintendo makes something cool and unique with existing IPs (BotW and Odyssey) but the era of them doing weird shit with mainline mascots is certainly dwindled. Sunshine is a far better game than 3D world

Except for the part where im probably older than you, balding soilent chugging pasty cock holster. Go ram your wii remote and soi con up your ass to prep it for your bull. 1985-2005 nintendo was a legendary force remembered by all. Their best selling console the wii died like 3 years in even though it was selling fast lmao. Because it was the iphone before the iphone came out and anyone who actually enjoys gaming knew it was a piece of garbage

3D World was six years ago. If he hadn't gone full retard with OLD GOOD NEW BAD, he would've pointed out Odyssey has a metric ton of the weird shit he likes such as falling off a level to end up in an underground forest with a realistic T-Rex lurking about.

That it was fucking awesome? We'll probably never get that kind of creativity from Nintendo again. Odyssey's idea of creativity was to just have normal looking people and cringey vocal tracks. Other than that we had the New Super Mario Bros and 3D Land/World where I can only conclude devs were fired on the spot for suggesting they do anything outside of the most predictable Mario levels.

Wait a minute that shape... this is bowsette fanart innit?

I dont have a switch. The wii sucked, the wii u sucked even more, and im sure the switch sucks even more. Somehow they made mario kart 8 the best mario kart game though i will give credit where its due.

just say you haven't played odyssey its okay

I think Odyssey was a step back in the right direction of reducing that polished sterile feeling that Galaxy and 3D Land/World had, even if the gameplay isn't quite the same as the older 3D games.

>I don't have the thing I'm criticizing
Opinion discarded, faglord.
