I've literally never had a problem with symmetrical thumbsticks. In fact, I actually prefer them. For one, it's not at all an awkward position to have my thing in and for another, with games that make heavier use of the D-pad, I find it a lot easier to reach my thumb upward to hit them than it is to reach downward. That being said, anyone who actually throws a shit fit over stick positions is a fucking sperg.

Actually symmetric sticks is objectively better for games that use dpads because having a dpad in the lower position strains the hand more whereas the analog stick's height offsets the issue
