I played this scene with my wife watching. I let her decide what to do. She chose "Not happening". I guess my wife is more of Tifa and Aerith gal. She also noted that Cloud is really not her type.

A friend of mine is downloading it right now. I told him Sephiroth from Advent Children comes back to the past and time ghosts appear to keep the plot in order. He laughed at me and said I was full of shit. I wish I could see his face when he gets past the first reactor.

You don't get it. The final battle with Sephiroth is actually an illusion that everyone who went through portal experiences. Even endgame Sephiroth is illusion himself since in reality you fought time janny that was larping as Sephiroth.

Dude, i finished the Remake yesteday and i can assure you that after Motorball, Aerith opens a portal to go defeat the time ghosts. Beyond the portal is illusion of Midgar's future. The Time Ghosts are planet's Meta Weapon to ensure planet will be rescued from Sephrioth-Jenova-Meteor-combo. TIme Ghosts also represent the TRUE and HONEST fans obsessing over the OG and screeching at any deviation from OG. AS you, the player then defeat them, you ensure the sequels can do more drastic changes to OG plot. The whole fight is an illusion and after Time Ghosts defeat Sephrioth appears for the team to fight and after team fight they have cutscene duel with Cloud that Cloud loses and Sephiroth bantering about the 7 seconds Cloud has to prevent Aerith's death as Sephiroth jumps out in Ancient Capital to impale Aerith.

I'm curious if anyone here even played kh? Because I didn't and everything I've seen so far in the remake is not that different from other anime shit. But people specifically call it kingdom hearts bullshit.

If the fact sephiroth has his wing and cloud knows about it from the start of the game doesn't indicate that it's AC sephiroth and can be explained by just "nomura shit"
ten so can cloud slicing through building like he does in AC. nomura just wanted to do it because he's a hack.
there's ploth oles and shit that makes no sense, some of it will be retroactively given meaning, in turn creating yet more plot holes and some of it will never be addressed. that's how nomura shit works.

Maybe just watch some cutscenes from KH3. you'll see it's the same convoluted mess of childish bullshit you see being injected into FF7R.
You'll recognise nomuras taint all over it.

Jenova ABsolute fight: Happened for real
Bizarro Sephiroth: Cocoon for Spehiroth to get his god-like powers. You defeating this cocoon leaves the transformation incomplete, letting you fight Seraph Spehiroth who is still missing the full power he could have attained if the cocoon wasnt destroyed
Seraph Sephiroth: Real fight, but Super Nova is only an powerful spell that doenst actually destroy Sun but still a spell that damages the party
The last duel between Cloud and shirtless Seph: Happened in the Cloud's head to drive away Cloud's obsession

Through the story Cloud sees Sephiroth, but it turns out that these were just clones who have number tags on them. (There are few instances in which Sephiroth is only an illusion, but majority of the time the Sephiroth you see in the game is just a clone. You see that shit)
In second case (boss Sephiroth), that's time janny. Once you beat him, the illusion breaks and you see that Sephiroth that you fought wasn't actually Sephiroth, but time janny.
The only mystery is the Sephiroth you see in the ending cut-scene that asks of you to join him.

Yes Sephrioth can apparate in the game's world taking over Jenova's s cells from the actual corpse of Jenova or the clones with number tats and Jenova cells in them. Jenova was and still is Space Parasite with the gimmick of illusion and manipulation.

There are shitton of plot holes, but things that he is saying are true of what happens.
You go through portal and everything past that is just an illusion made by time niggas to fuck with you and the party. Even Sephiroth boss fight is just time nigga larping as Sephiroth. Those parts of plot at least are clear.
What's not clear is what comes after that fight a.k.a. edge of the creation cut-scene.

I'm conflicted because parts of the game does show that they WERE trying to make a good, faithful remake, but then they also shoved in some meta plot expressing how contrived it felt for them to stick to the script instead of coming up with their own (VERY VERY BAD AND TERRIBLE) ideas.

The time ghosts represent the obsessed fans of the OG who dont want anything to change. It's a great meta middlefinger for them, especially since they make you, yourself, defeat them and allow the freedom in the future isntallations.

I enjoyed the ride all up until last chapter. The final fight with Time Jannies were way too Kingdom Hearts to me.

Maybe half way thorugh they realized that there's no way they can make the whole game so they gave themselves a loophole to cut out the fat.

Sure, compared to that it was more grounded, but the og itself was never objectively grounded.

No More Heroes is censored in Japan, they replaced the blood with a black mist.

Fag that couldn't beat Leviathan here: I just leveled twice and suddenly the Tidal Wave AOE attack goes from wiping my party to only doing 50% damage without buffs. This game is fucked. I'm sure there's some kind of level shenanigans going on in the background where the programmers just didn't want you to win arbitrarily in some scenarios purely to make you play longer. My dudes don't even have 1000 extra hp, and yet 50% mitigation to the attack in only two levels?

The Japanese version didn't have any blood.
