I’m genuinely looking for a reason to stick with Playstation into next gen. The PS4 is my second favorite console of all time, and moving to the PS5 was all but guaranteed leading up to now. If I was making a meme version of the PS4 controller I would make the touchpad larger and make the lightbar face the user as a joke. How did this get approved? Add in the built in microphone that I don’t want listening to me and it is a perfect storm of terrible. On top of this the console will likely match the controller (mostly white with black accents). Past that, the PS5 is weaker, has nothing even close to Game Pass and while neither console has great exclusive, at least the Xbox has a decent racing franchise while PS4 didn’t have a single good racing game in a generation. Outside of a faster SSD and having a well used account already with PSN, what does PS5 offer that is an advantage over Series X? This isn’t a fanboy/shill post. I want to stay with Playstation.

I literally have a $2500 usd pc that will become a $4000 when the rtx 3080 ti drops. and i know that even while owning a $4000 pc, I'll still have a switch (and possibly switch pro) as well as a ps5. almost entirely for weebshit like Persona as well as fighting games. It's not that you can't play fighting games on pc, it just sucks. no playerbase, no crossplay unless it's sfv, pain in the fucking ass to wireless play with controllers with a friend on a tv. it's just more fucking comfy with a console. basically my equal love of both fps games and fighting games has made me have both a playstation and a gaming pc at the same time, as well as the switch for that ninty shit.

Have they ever talked about how devs get paid on gamepass? I almost never play AAA (MHworld is the only thing I can think of in the last 20 years) and stick to weeb and indie. If I buy the gamepass does the majority go to the games backed by the biggest publishers that negotiated better contracts or do they actually take what you play into account?

The first version of the ps5 will be weaker than the SX because Sony is aiming to sell it for 399$ and cut under the SX with 1-200$. It's still going to be a huge leap from the ps4 and these coupled with the fact that it is likely going to have better exclusives and much more Japanese games than the SX easily makes it the better option. Furthermore anyone already owning a ps4 will be able to just bring over both their digital and physical library and play their games on a better performance, so that's a reason to stay with it.
