My favorite part of the game is carrying two types of axes, and having one variant break constantly because I need resources.

it makes me happy, that's all that matters

Misleading title, can't crucify animals.

Anyone have a screencap of Audie's normal house? Got her as a starter and didn't realize she'll never have her normal house for whatever stupid reason

K.K. Bubblegum of course! :3

Why does the game have that name? I thought that the players crossed animals and the villagers were the results of the genetic mixtures.

I don't want random villagers in my town, and my NFC tags don't come till Tuesday are the earliest. I feel like I'll never get rid of this 1 star rating.

It's supposed to be Animal Forest.

It's a bit shit compared to older entries, but still ok I guess. I expected better though.

she's actually surprisingly toned down in this game, and unless she comes out of the office to officiate events, I don't see her having a large role at all

Because you arrived by a train in the original, so you arrive at a "crossing" but it's also where the world of mankind and the world of anthropomorphized animals "cross"

if it was any other dev team I'd be super worried, but they're likely going to be shoving out content for at least 2 years

Does the bunny day shit become available from the catalog at any point? I can see them in there but can't get em.

Lucky KK

I thought I could do villager errands once kk came by but it's the same shit as before except now I got terraforming.

I'm not really into terraforming. I might just replay the GC one on an emulator

never
same with any holiday or special guest items

I'm expecting them to make DLC for it Animal Crossing to bring back the stuff that was removed, that seems to be nintendo's new approach to most of their big titles.

Will I like this game?

it's the dev team that made splatoon 2, and splatoon 2 didn't get a paid update for a full year, and it got tons of free updates. have some faith

Paid DLC?
In the case of Mario Maker 2 the DLCs are extremely slow. It has been 4 months since there was an update and I do not doubt that Nintendo will take another 2 months to add new things to the game, which makes an average of two updates (with little content) per year.
If Animal Crossing follows the same logic, there will be a few items or new animals added for free every 6 months, which probably will not impact the game at all.
Unless Nintendo decides to sell DLCs, of course, which is very likely.

Just got the game, can someone answer some newbie questions?

>What's the dealio with the trees/fruits on your island, can you change them?
>To what extent can you terraform the island? You get 4 to choose from, but how much of it are you constrained to?

Basically how much of your starting island details is permanent or not?

Just plant a good bit of flowers and make sure all the weeds and branches are picked up and you should get 3 star fast.

>don't want to keep this ugly bunny day shit but I'm a hoarder

Well shit.

Attached: 1575353028534.jpg (633x629, 38.35K)

>buy a water cooler from nooks
>immediately get one from a villager
>pop a balloon and get one

all the same fucking color
why

Very boring game. Feels like in playing fucking farmville or some dumb shit like that

>What's the dealio with the trees/fruits on your island, can you change them?
no, you CAN uproot/remove them and plant different fruit you get from other people/islands though

>To what extent can you terraform the island?
literally anything within the perimeter of the beach can be terraformed

It is the Splatoon team, which added a lot of very notable free updates to Splatoon 2. Only one was paid, mainly because it had a campaign.

Fuck the Marauder

Thanks, user.

native fruits are unchangeable, but you can have every fruit on your island with some trading
trees can be chopped down or planted at will
the only stuff that's set in stone are the coast, the beach, the airport (including color), resident services, and the river exit locations. everything else can be changed

can't crossbreed them either

>literally anything within the perimeter of the beach

Does that include the weird little promontory outcrop that each island seems to have?

look up how often splatoon 2 got small free updates. it was almost too often, honestly

Animals cross your path.

thats on/outside of the beach perimeter, so no

Already working on 3 5x5 gardens for Roses, Pansies, and wildflowers. Also, every building has fencing and flowers on each corner.

Holy shit they make waifus out of everything and I love it

coastline and beachline are all untouchable, including the little peninsula
you can put a cliff on the peninsula if you want tho. I have a clifftop lighthouse on mine

I like the original animal crossing a lot more. breakable items gives me anxiety about when its going to break next which defeats the purpose of the game. crafting is okay I guess. The animals repeat themselves too much.

Attached: Animal-Crossing.jpg (640x480, 227.02K)

How the fuck do meteor showers work?

completely random if it happens
when it does you get a lot of extra shooting stars at night

Thanks for the info

But it's piss easy to make new items.

But what kind of things did the updates change? Did they add game modes or things like that?
Splatoon is an online game, so it makes sense that it receives several updates to try to balance the game, fix bugs, etc.
I can see Animal Crossing receiving new items for decoration frequently. But honestly I have no faith in Nintendo that it will add more complex elements that constitute the core of the gameplay.
Unless she did it with Splatoon 2 before. I never played this game...

villager chores is like 80% of the gameplay, why'd they get rid of it?

>Go on turnip exchange to sell some nips
>People demanding an upfront entrance fee
>PLUS asking for tips
Jesus, why would anyone even bother with these

I still worry. its silly I know.

new weapons, new maps, new events, new cosmetics
all the fucking time

Can I sell my turnips without the reddit exchange? They're all feefags and the queues are huge.

They're still there, they're just less common

just dont
people post here all the time with good prices

Comfiest game I've ever played in my life, and I'm a 34 year old boomer.

they got rid of villager chores? I didn't know that. I kept talking to my villagers hoping to run an errand for them.

They went for the crafting formula. However I still have been doing chores for that Jew nook.
>Hey we have three new people coming to the island and I promised them houses so you're going to get everything they need for houses. Thanks.

selling bait, 1k bells per stack

>nips doesn't refer to nipples or japanese people anymore
ac threads are confusing

Attached: zZt2bU1.gif (451x257, 1.92M)

no

they added new maps, weapons, cosmetics, and events all the time
we might not get tons of large meaningful updates but we're going to be flooded in new furniture, clothing, and characters. they already teased Leif in a late April update

I like it overall. I personally play it about 90 minutes a day in two 45 minute chunks (usually once in the morning and once in the evening). I prefer the slowburn style and customizing my house/island as I unlock things organically but many time traveled to just unlock everything and get to the customization immediately, which is fine I guess if that's more what you prioritize in a game like AC but that's not my style

K.K. Disco

Hey Yas Forums,

Is this a good game to intro my wife to vidya? The only thing that she played in her life was The Sims 4, YIKES.

Had similar happen to me. Ordered a sofa for my main room, got it the next day, started shaking trees and almost immediately got the same sofa. Only good thing was that it was a different color.

Lucky you I got this pic..

Anyone have Reneigh? I refuse to let her leave she is my bff.

You shouldn't. At most it's a bother as you get delayed slightly. If you're out of sticks go shake some trees for more. They seem to drop them infinitely. Then you just need a single iron to upgrade.

Oh, she's letting me choose one.
Fuck I can't possibly come on with one on the spot.

They're a thing, but they take a while to start asking for them. My main issue is the delivery ones sometimes end up with no reward and the fun ones like minigames are so rare I've only seen one so far. It was a timed treasure hunt and I want to do it again.

they're still in, but I didn't get any until like day 5

It's tedious to make them over and over, though. I don't see how it could be argued that breakable tools make the game more enjoyable. It's simply a change for the worse and has no upsides.

>sold last week for 477 and this week for 5XX thanks to Yas Forums
>sold last week on Tuesday and this week on Monday
>didn't cost me anything
If I ever get high turnips early enough I'm opening here for free and on everywhere else for rusted parts.

I didn't say it's enjoyable. Just easy.

Oh, well it seemed like you were defending them.

>gonna get the game
>realized my NL town is five years old and I’ve only played it like 2 times
$60 saved, looks good though

Nice! The only Nintendo game I played on my Switch was Mario Maker 2 and man, Nintendo's disregard for that game is incredible.
It is good to know that they are apparently going to follow another philosophy with Animal Crossing.
My hope is that they will add new types of animals to collect, such as reptiles, amphibians and birds. Although something like this would probably be a paid DLC...

Just beware that it spreads to other villagers quickly so don't make it too specific to her.

I really want Coco to be my 10th, without having to kick anyone, but the dumb NFC tags aren't here yet.

Get it for free with a paperclip. You can still use PC applications to visit others online, even with incognito enabled. I visited my brother last night from my legit copy and everything went smoothly.

It's such a hassle with just the people here sometimes that opening all over is just asking for more of a headache. Plenty of traffic from here as is. Also, it's always best to just pay it forward with free entry and if people wanna be nice they can leave a tip or vandalize your message board. Never saw the merit to asking for fees when everyone's just doing their thing.

>sold last week for 477
That number seems familiar, was that like, Friday or Saturday morning? I think that was my town.

youtube.com/watch?v=MGMpCG6vKao

just report them to isabelle

I don't think the gameplay was enhanced with having to craft tools, I'm fine with crafting everything else but it's annoying having to stock two fishrods, nets, and shovels
