Was he in the wrong?
philip strenger was the worst person in the witcher 3, absolute scum of the earth.
I fucking loved him.
Oh yeah, the baron even admits he was in the wrong multiple times.
his entire character arc was accepting what a shitty person he was and trying to make it right.
was there a way to save him?
He was a good leader but a bad father and husband.
that fetus mission lol so nasty what the fuck is wrong with white people
Nah he was in the right. Sluts needs need to learn their place. If his wife wanted out of the relationship she should have said so not gone behind his back.
>He was a good leader
his men hate and eventually usurp him
Sacrifice the children and he'll get a "happy" ending.
What a bizarre guy
ya if only he had sucked it up into a medical vacuum in tiny pieces then none of that would have happened
He shouldn't beat his wife even though she made his life miserable, but other than that, she was clearly the one who caused all their problems
I did that on my first playthrough, then tried to save the children on the second one and deeply regretted it
>what the fuck is wrong with white people
That’s not Cloud Strife
That woulds be this man.
yeah, the bad end hurt
>everybody else in the world basically looks hispanic or indian
What did she mean by this?
he was pretty fun for most of the game but
>geralt, just turn around and let your friends die, lol
was so retarded that it cancels everything else out
50/50 based and retarded
>find what you're looking for among the dead?
Na dude she needed money and status.
[Reply forcefully]
It's too bad they didn't put him in a good game, and that half of his quest is Detective Mode.
>Detective Mode
How would you best represent a character that is a master hunter, or detective, when the player isn't?
He was probably my favourite character until that part. It really didn't make sense.
Clues that aren't glowing red footprints. Dialogue spoken by the fully voiced characters that the player has to pay attention to that will point the player in the right direction without a neon sign saying "WALK HERE, THERE IT IS." Tutorials that ease the inexperienced player into the various(not in this game) methods of fulfilling tasks, the likes of which are present in nearly every game to be released for decades.
Real complicated, I know.
He's Yas Forums personified.
>Real complicated, I know.
More than you seem to realize. "Clues that aren't glowing", okay, what? They have to stand out some how, or people aren't going to see them, they'll blend into the environment. You aren't a master detective, you have no idea how to catch Victor Zsasz if the game doesn't hand it to you, just like you have to press X to reload, instead of going through the actual process that you don't know. It has to be abstracted away.
>present in nearly every game to be released for decades
Name one game that does any kind of real detective/hunter type thing without it.
He suicided in my game and I felt nothing.
>mfw Geralt breaks Dijkstra's leg
>again
Whether you think he's right or not interesting characters are good reason to have Witcher threads and that makes me happy at least
>Name one game that does any kind of real detective/hunter type thing without it.
>Phoenix Wright
>Hotel Dusk
>Ghost Trick
>okay, what?
Read beyond the first sentence and find your question answered with one example that does not provide a comprehensive list.
>They have to stand out some how, or people aren't going to see them
You can stand out without glowing. Even if it's as much as a brown deer: You will have to look where the deer are, then find the brown one. It doesn't need to be incandescent for a player to find it. I know Witcher fans are lazy and fairly stupid, but you're honestly setting the bar here.
>You aren't a master detective
I don't have to be for the game to teach me(tutorials, for the second time) how to use the game's systems to fulfill tasks.
>It has to be abstracted away
Bright neon signs are not abstracted.
>Name one game that does any kind of real detective/hunter type thing without it
Planescape Torment and Kingdom of Loathing both accomplish this. The 2nd one is a freebie.
It's impossible to discuss anything legitimately on Yas Forums, because you always encounter these people that have convinced themselves they're smart, and that they really understand what's being discussed, and they never are, and they never do. If you honestly think Phoenix Wright is an example, you don't even know the topic.
>Dialogue spoken by the fully voiced characters that the player has to pay attention
Witcher 3 does that. The Bloody Baron tells you what kind of flower his wife likes. That's how you know which voodoo doll is hers.
>It's impossible to discuss anything legitimately on Yas Forums
I just did: I answered your questions, I provided examples and solutions. You were too busy being stupid to keep from getting stuck on the numerous times I called you stupid.
i felt his regret
>Read beyond the first sentence
Cherrypicking retards like you don't seem to understand that doing this doesn't make you seem clever, you just come off like an idiot who can't read beyond a few words without being compelled into vomiting your garbage opinion out onto the screen.
>Even if it's as much as a brown deer.
Useful in a game where you're a hunter, I'm sure, but not a particularly relevant or insightful example.
>Bright neon signs are not abstracted
Okay, so you don't even know what he means by 'abstracted'. Demonstrating that you don't understand even the basic terminology used in a discussion like this isn't particularly convincing.
>Planescape Torment and Kingdom of Loathing both accomplish this.
Completely different style of games with interfaces and mechanics that wouldn't work in a game like the Witcher. Did you have any relevant examples to give, or a reasonable alternative to how the Witcher is presented? Here's a hint, pulling names off Google or from a tvtropes list isn't a substitute for actually knowing what you're talking about.
CAREFUL GERALT, CAREFUL NOW
You answered questions in a way that made it clear you didn't really understand, gave examples that weren't relevant, and solutions that miss the point.
Look at your own example, "look where the deer are, then find the brown one". So there's deer, they're all white let's say, but one is brown, so he stands out. "Pick the only brown deer" is kosher, but "pick the only glowing deer" is bad. And you don't understand why that doesn't really click?
The only thing I'm more sick of than getting drawn into these go nowhere arguments with narcissists like yourself, who seem to purposefully refuse to understand even the most basic arguments, is black people. Here's your last (You) from me.
>doing this doesn't make you seem clever
It isn't used for this purpose. It's done to tell people to read who clearly weren't.
>Useful in a game where you're a hunter
>real detective/hunter
Are you saying Geralt doesn't hunt? Nothing wild in this game?
>you don't even know what he means by 'abstracted'
If he meant something else, he should have said it.
>different style of games
Relevance? We were discussing video games as a whole. You jumped in and are saying we weren't, now?
>or a reasonable alternative to how the Witcher is presented
Besides the one you quoted about the brown deer? Fuck, man, you're shitting your pants here.
>pulling names off Google or from a tvtropes list isn't a substitute for actually knowing what you're talking about
Advice for someone who did, I guess. I didn't need to, and I didn't.
>It's done to tell people to read who clearly weren't.
And then you go on to address the other parts of his post, so you just end up looking like a retard incapable of parsing a simple sentence.
>Are you saying Geralt doesn't hunt?
I'm saying that it's not a relevant example because it doesn't provide an alternative to the discussed mechanic. I wasn't aware that hunting sparkly deer was a core part of what you were discussing.
>If he meant something else
He didn't, you absolute illiterate. Your not knowing what a term means is not an indication that he meant something else.
>Relevance? We were discussing video games as a whole
Yeah, but an example still needs to be relevant to be useful. I'm sure this is hard for you to understand, having the education of a middle schooler, but being unable to substantiate criticisms makes them entirely worthless.
>Besides the one you've already dismissed as irrelevant
Yeah, thanks for confirming you're literally incapable of thinking up another example.
>n-no you
Two posts in and you're already resorting to this? I expected better user, you must really be getting desperate.
>And you don't understand why that doesn't really click?
>They have to stand out some how, or people aren't going to see them, they'll blend into the environment
I provided a means for the deer to stand out without glowing.
>you didn't really understand
>solutions that miss the point
Did you mean to say something other than what you said? You should work on that.
>gave examples that weren't relevant
To video games?
>And then you go on to address the other parts of his post
He made several points and I addressed them.
>it doesn't provide an alternative to the discussed mechanic
"I need to look for this specific deer." That's an alternative and I provided it. Honestly, there isn't even a point in reading the rest of your post. Read what's been posted, take a break if you need to.
>being so desperate to reply you can't even quote the posts correctly
>l-let me just ignore the ninety percent of your post I don't have a response to
Really great job there user
Reminder to everyone that these are the kind of people criticising the Witcher's mechanics
>"I need to look for this specific deer." That's an alternative and I provided it
But it's not an alternative to anything other than a contrived hypothetical that you yourself have made up; ie it's completely worthless. Thanks for again confirming you can't think of even a single other example.
>Honestly, there isn't even a point in reading the rest of your post. Read what's been posted, take a break if you need to.
I accept your concession, better luck next time.
They NEED to make sure everyone knows that "the masses" are wrong about something, but they are right, and therefore special. They need it like a person needs air, or food.
It's honestly amazing how quickly they devolve from giving genuine, if incorrect or misunderstood, responses to simply flat-out ignoring entire posts they don't like because they can't think of a single rebuttal and throwing tantrums because "y-you just didn't understand". They make it so obvious from when they fail to understand terminology that's even slightly technical.
There's no effort in it these days, it's almost sad.
CIRILLA
GODS WHAT A STUPID NAME
He was alright, too bad he never made up with his daughter to be a good daddy.
his basically a rip off of king Robert from the game of thrones
That's not Sigismund Dikstra
Should I play Throne breaker if I neither like the geopolitical aspects of their wold and Gwent
retarded question
Why? It's focus is on both aspects I like least about witcher
ergo you shouldn't play it, retarded faggot
at least retarded questions get retarded answers
>a literal cuck
nice try user but i don't play pozzed games
Cirilla is a great name though. What are you, a fucking faggot or something?
