Are you a "game collector," Yas Forums?
Oh look
Another Nintendo shill that gets attention from reddit and loser because "le quirky nerd xDDD"
Kill yourself
/thread
I started last year. Wish I had gotten in sooner. Dont know if I should go low to high or high to low.
He is HOT! !
Collecting games is Yas Forums core. But not hoarding them. There is a difference.
If you only pirate you most likely a favela monkey or worse......a slav.
HEY ALL
>reviewing old games and consoles when you grew up with the Wii era
Scott is unironically the only content producer still making soulful videos about vidya
his jokes are pretty funny and his videos are comfy, well put together, and just entertaining
he does shill nintendo, but he grew up with them, and he has shit alot of stuff they do
Fuck no. I get everything digital DRM-free if I can, pirate otherwise. Only exceptions are a few multiplayer games I'm weak for. Any old games, I emulate. My "collection" of over 1500 games consists of two hard drives.
And the funny thing is, that's doing more to ensure long-term preservation of these games than any physical collector.
I used to be, but after seeing my mother become a hoarder I stopped being interested in constantly obtaining useless items. I only buy what I truly want nowadays, stuff that will get constant usage from me.
HEY YALL SCOTT HERE WITH SOME OPINIONS ON GAMES IVE NEVER BEATEN OR EVEN PLAYED
E-beggar threads are NOT VIDEO GAMES
FUCK OFF
I need to sell some games
>friend collects games
>has absolutely massive library of physical copies ranging from the atari to current gen stuff
>doesn't touch most of them, 99% of them have been fired up once ever and then left to collect dust
>doesn't even know all the games he has
why even bother if you don't play them, don't even know what you have, and buy shit for the sake of buying?
>E-beggar threads are NOT VIDEO GAMES
>FUCK OFF
Not but I have a few old consoles left with some games I love. I used to be more of a game horder til I so most of it for like 5000 one summer a few years ago. Seemed like a pointless waste to have hundreds of games I'll literally never play again and have to lug them around after moving. It's nice to know that some of those buyers were going to play the games.
I have a small collection of games I enjoy or have enjoyed or planning on reselling when I'm done.
A lot of people are just going to conflate collecting with hoarding though and that isn't healthy whether it's physical or digital.
I'd get into collecting whatever is cheapest. I got skate 3, call of duty world at war and splinter cell chaos theory for $2 and I didn't even want to buy. The game was begging me
Is it too late to get into collecting?
>i'm a faggot for this jewish piece of shit: here's why
He's shit. Not vidya. Fuck off.
Who’s the one with dross art?
Guy, I watched him when he still had like 50k subs
He got old, fast.
MADDEN 08
GET IT
RANDOM OLD SPORTS GAME
FUNNY HUH
I collect saturn
I had a few hundred games, mainly PSX and PS2, along with a couple dozen Xbox and 360 games. Sold them all for a few grand to help afford moving out.
I really miss having the old equipment. There's nothing quite like plugging in the original equipment to play on it. It sucks that I gave away all of my memories I could have with my original copies, but I suppose that is part of growing up.
no but prices are going up cause people are stuck inside
Fuck off
Really? because I'm looking to sell a juicy snes bundle but the prices seemed low last I checked before the virus.
I was, but it was all stolen. I replaced everything and it was all stolen again. I'm completely cut off from the shitty part of my family that was doing it now, but it made me lose all interest.
terrible lifestyle choice.
Your favorite youtube channel is shit. KYS fag.
Who's the girl?
I just had my 2019 car stolen from my driveway bu basketball Americans
more like a hoarder.
i'm a minimalist, and collecting is a waste of space, so no.
Boohoo.
>>>/reddit/
I buy games that I like and then keep them.
I would never buy a mountain of trash games just out of a compulsion to own ALL the games on a single system though. But I could see the appeal in owning a physical copy of an expensive GOOD game like Earthbound just for the sake of having it.
This pisses me off more than the bullshit blue borders. IF YOU DON'T EVEN LIKE THE GAME STOP BRINGING IT UP AS A JOKE
Can shilling for ecelebs finally be an instantly bannable offense?
It's only worth it to collect the games if you'll play them. If it's some shit like earthbound, then obviously it's better to just emulate, but with stuff like N64, Playstation/2, SNES games, and so on, it's cool to be able to play them on the original hardware. Even gameboy games have the advantage of being able to play portable (although emulation is nice for having save files not fuck up on GB/GBC games). Mock gamepads with emulation can only bring you so far, although Dolphin is actually more enjoyable than the actual gamecube with a lot of games, since you can play at a higher resolution and most games run perfectly on it, and you can just plug in the original controller with an adapter.
tl;dr It's a game-by-game basis.
You sound like a faggot thinking only your casual taste is only worth collecting
>>>/autism/
If you think you're going to play it, then pick it up. I don't give a shit.
/ourguy/
>Spamming a thread with multiple comments instead of just hiding it
Literal autism.
Ok. Mr. Matei.
I collected all the shitty ps2 games I never played or cared and took them to a charity seller.
I did a similar thing for PS3, but all the multiplat titles (since I can just play them on PC).
All the PS4 games (and PS3 games with booklets I consider shitty) I put into small disc sleeves and threw out the cases so it all takes up less space.
And I certainly don't leave them out in the open, because that would be autistic. They all go in the deep draw if the tv cabinet.
madden 08 isn't completely le random humour, it was the last game that came out on the gamecube.
I sold all my games and its costing almost as much to buy them back as I paid the first time.
This sucks but itll just get worse if I wait.
no idea why they even have "advertising" as a report option when they never do anything about eceleb shilling
Scott Is the ultimate consoomer.
I remember watching Jontron review SNES shit then finding out I'm older than him and he would have been a fetus when those games came out. I had just assumed he was Rolfe's age.
thats just everyone on Yas Forums dipshit
CONSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
If I were to collect i'd only buy my all time favorites, but shit is so expansive where I live, specially old shit
Once "collecting" as a hobby became "speculating" I noped out forever. Grow up and invest in a mutual fund.

Virgin Collector:
>Has multiple shelves filled with shovelware that he never touches
>Will pay $50 for a "super rare" Mario + Duck Hunt NES Cartridge
>Buys games at launch, beats them in 2 days, doesn't sell them because "muh collection", never replays them
>"Hunting is half the fun! I love looking at yard sales and flea markets!"
>On the rare chance he actually wants to play a classic game, he will spend weeks looking for "a good deal", eventually will drop $100 on it, and then leave it to rot on his shelf, as the "hunt" exhausted him
Chad Emulator:
>Has a multiple TB hard drive filled with pretty much every game ever made at his fingertips. He can delete them if he needs to at any time and lose nothing.
>Plays the classics in 4K60fps, is essentially playing a free remaster
>"Hmm, today I feel like playing Earthbound. Let's get this download started!"
Hacked Original Hardware GOD:
>Owns all the original consoles that he has modded/hacked himself as fun projects
>Plays literally any game he wants for free including tricky to emulate consoles like the Saturn or OG Xbox
>Playing on original hardware means that he is playing as intended; free of any bugs and glitches that occur on emulation, no matter how small.
why? videogames are made to be purchased, theres not limited supply of these things unless you're talking about limited edition boxes and shit, then you're a collector of figurines and posters and junk, not games.
Hey y'all, Scott here! Here's 20 copes of Wii Play, why did I get these?
This man speaks the truth and thread should end here. Hacked OG hardware/flashcarts and emulation is king, collecting is trash
I own video games that I enjoy or thought I would enjoy.
Or haven't played yet
I collect somewhat. Don't go out of my way to get the majority of games for each system but I have a mental list of ones I want and I keep them in mind when I have money to spend. On some occasions I've spent over $100 for a complete game in box but it has to be something I'm really interested in. I'd never pay the crazy price that Outrun Coast 2 Coast costs because I'm not a fan of racing games. People on Yas Forums constantly say to "just emulate it" but it's just not as fun and I'm emphatically against gaming on PC because sitting on a desk with a mouse and keyboard doesn't feel like gaming to me.
