Fractured But Whole did a pretty funny spin on this.
Really conveys a subtle sense of dread!
>pick audio log #1, #2 and #4
>look for #3 for hours

As a penetration tester I can tell you this is much more accurate to real life than it seems. People leave passwords on post it notes, in rolodexes, in text files in their home directory, and even in emails they send to themselves. Security involving normies is always a joke.
I think Res 2 remake did something like that. The original might have too. I don't know since I'm still playing it.
>pick up audio log
>"I can't believe the board won't use my monster just because you can defeat them by doing X! So what if they can be defeated if someone were to use X? I'll show them!"
I've seen this shit in a hospital.
>game removes a letter from your keyboard to stop you from guessing the password
It did. With 2 safe combination I think (in one they tell you to change the code asap and that the safe was moved, on the other they don't even try and put the code of the safe literally on the side of the safe itself)
It would have been better if they actually let you do it but you got a permanent debuff or later scenes would call you a cheating faggot or something.

Dishonored does this all the time through written notes. Also I think some guards discuss security stuff frequently
>spend forever looking for the passcode
>code is written under an object you were supposed to pick up and manipulate.
PlayStation 3
Aaaagh?
whenever a game allows me to pick something up and rotate it around I already know that bullshit's going to be in the game

Deus Ex HR and the new Prey both do something similar with sticky notes attached to computers.
>also his pin number
realistic
where I use to work we had a keypad to get into the back door since one of the employees kept losing the fucking key. The code was 3671 but for some reason this one dumbass fucking kid couldn't remember it. I came to work one day and saw the code carved into the outside wall nearby. He admitted to it and he got a harsh reprimanding the the GM.
People are fucking retarded.
He said to not name any games you retards.
Doom Eternally cringe

If I'm ever bleeding to death I'm gonna leave a note like this, just to fuck with someone. I'll even dribble a little bit of blood around the corners for aesthetic
based
fuck, I actually wrote a note like this in a mod I made for Fallout 4.

>CUTT OFF THEIR LIMBS

"We've spent all our ammo on a single monster and the bastard doesn't die, what the hell?! Shitting their head's useless!"
>"Being trapped here... gave me a lot of time to think... to anyone finding this... you need to aim for their limbs... forget their head, cut the limbs..."
>"Hey Isaac how did you survive the Ishimura?"
>"Oh that's easy I just cut off their limbs. All of them."
You can see this IRL from notes left by people trapped in caves or bunkers without air and that we couldn't get to. You just watch their words become scrambled and illegible as the fear and deprivation sets in.
Also that girl that gave a call to her mother while bleeding out after being mauled by a bear.
